Brann’s plan is more specific than a delivery. He wants Lagnus to work out what the core must look like from the shape of the shell, then get the Frostborn looking for it. Meanwhile Brann tackles the other problem he has already spotted: the shell has no locking mechanism, so finding both halves may not be enough to join them.

Once he gets over his awe. He said that before I had left the library, about a man forty miles away who had not yet been told anything.
The shell rode inside my pack against my spine for the whole flight back.
“Hello there!” Lagnus said, and then he saw what I was holding and stopped where he stood. “By Muradin’s beard! Is that what I think it is?! Brann’s really outdone himself this time… and you too for that matter! The boys back home are never going to believe this.”
Brann had called it to the word.
He got there in the end, which is more than most manage.
He took the shell in both hands and turned it toward the light and forgot I was standing there.
Lagnus needed the Frostborn looking for the core and the Frostborn answered to one man, so getting anything out of them meant an audience with The Frostborn King.
