Talandra’s Rose is effectively exclusive to Zul’Drak: outside a couple of stray spawns on the Grizzly Hills border and a few dungeons, this is the only place it grows. The zone is also the second-densest Cobalt source in Northrend, with scattered Saronite beginning to appear. The troll camps drop Frostweave steadily, and there are three separate Eternal elemental spots spread across the zone.

Main Farming Locations
Talandra’s Rose is the reason most people farm Zul’Drak, but the elemental spots and Saronite make it worth a full circuit. Here they are spot by spot, each with coordinates.
Main Locations
Talandra’s Rose (Primary Location)
- Zul’Drak is the most reliable and efficient zone for this, and it is used heavily in Alchemy and Inscription. It also has a chance to yield Deadnettle, increasing overall value.
- Secondary sources: a couple of stray spawns across the Grizzly Hills border, Frozen Herbs in Dragonblight, and dungeon spawns in Drak’Tharon Keep, Gundrak, and Ahn’kahet
- Picks can also yield Deadnettle, Crystallized Life, and on rare occasions a Frost Lotus.
Cobalt & Saronite Ore Mining
- Zul’Drak is the second-densest Cobalt zone in Northrend, and the veins yield Crystallized Earth and Water alongside the ore. Scattered Saronite Deposits begin appearing here and add Crystallized Shadow, though the volume Saronite lives in the endgame zones.
- The higher level range keeps mining competition down, especially early in the expansion.
Frostweave Cloth & Bandage Manual Farming
- Humanoid mobs in Zul’Drak frequently drop Heavy Frostweave Bandage manuals.
- Tailors benefit from Northern Cloth Scavenging bonus, while First Aid players gain an early supply of higher-tier bandages.
Gundrak Raptor Skinning (Northeast Zul’Drak)
Location: The raptor packs outside the Gundrak entrance in the zone’s northeast.
Gundrak Raptors often skin for 2 to 3 Borean Leather each instead of the usual 1, which makes them unusually efficient per kill.
The spawns are spread enough that the spot supports one farmer comfortably, so if someone is already working the loop, take the herb route instead.
Eternal Water, Life, and Air Farming
- Eternal Water Locations: Water elemental spawn points around Altar of Rhunok (51.8, 46.8) and south of the Argent Stand (41, 75)
- Kill Frozen Earth elementals at Altar of Rhunok for Crystallized Water. They are immune to nature damage. They can also be mined for Crystallized Earth.
- Kill Crazed Water Spirit elementals south of the Argent Stand for Crystallized Water. They are immune to frost spells.
- Eternal Life Location: Spawn point just east of the Argent Stand at (44.8, 63.2)
- Kill Mossy Rampager for Crystallized Life.
- Eternal Air Location: Spawn point in eastern Zul’Drak at the Altar of Quetz’lun (72.6, 57.8)
- Kill Altar Warden air elementals for Crystallized Air
- A good alternative when Wintergrasp is unavailable.
Profession Pairings
- Mining + Herbalism: Saronite veins and Talandra’s Rose nodes are both dense here, and fewer gatherers at this level range means you’ll actually get to pick them up.
- Herbalism + Skinning: If you’re grinding troll camps for Frostweave Cloth, Skinning adds a second income from beast mobs along the route.
Market Timing
- Talandra’s Rose: Inscription and Alchemy keep demand constant all expansion, and Zul’Drak is the densest source, so this is where you farm it.
- Cobalt Ore: Sells high during the profession-leveling rush, and this zone’s density with low competition makes it easy volume. Any Saronite you pick up feeds the endgame shuffle (prospect into gems, transmute, disenchant), so bank it rather than vendoring it.
- Frostweave Cloth: Troll humanoid camps drop it reliably. Tailors turn it into bags, which never stop selling.
- Crystallized Elements: Water, Life, and Air drop from mobs throughout the zone. Steady sellers for crafting, not flashy but consistent.
Gathering Circuit
In-zone, run herbs and mining along the same path, clearing troll camps for cloth and elemental drops when they’re on the route. Talandra’s Rose also spawns right along the Grizzly Hills border, so you can loop across the boundary without a long transit.

Preparation
- Make sure your gear handles upper-70s mobs comfortably; dying to pulls wastes more time than any route tweak saves.
- If the zone’s crowded, the herb route into Storm Peaks and Icecrown gives you an exit without ending your session.
Farming Maps & Coordinates
Talandra’s Rose throughout Zul’Drak is the most reliable zone for farming this high-value Alchemy and Inscription herb. Bonus Deadnettle yields increase profitability. Outside a couple of stray Grizzly Hills border spawns and dungeon herbs, Zul’Drak is the herb’s only home.
Cobalt Deposit spawns for Cobalt Ore in Zul’Drak yield ore plus Crystallized Earth, Water, and Shadow for crafting shuffles. Higher-level zone placement reduces mining competition compared to starter zones, ideal for early-expansion farming. Saronite Deposit also spawns but not as often as the end-game zones.
Frozen Earth elementals at Altar of Rhunok (51.8, 46.8) drop Crystallized Water for Eternal Water. Immune to nature damage. Mineable for bonus Crystallized Earth. Dual-purpose farming for water and earth materials.
Crazed Water Spirit elementals south of Argent Stand (41, 75) drop Crystallized Water for Eternal Water. Immune to frost spells. Alternative water elemental farming location to Altar of Rhunok.
Mossy Rampager mobs east of Argent Stand (44.8, 63.2) drop Crystallized Life for Eternal Life. Prime farming location for life elementals with consistent spawns. High demand for Darkmoon Card crafting.
