What this guide covers
Storm Peaks farming takes flying and gear that can handle elite mobs. With both, the zone opens up into one of the richest in Northrend. Titanium veins spawn here alongside dense Saronite, Lichbloom and Icethorn are the primary herbs, the Jormungar caves supply Arctic Fur and Worm Meat, and every Eternal element type is farmable somewhere in the zone, once you count the Shadow from Saronite veins and the Life from herb picks.
The 77-80 range keeps most low-level players out, so nodes last longer than they do in the lower zones.

Main Farming Locations
This is an endgame zone, so the payoff is higher and the competition thinner. The farms are spread across the peaks. Here they are spot by spot, each with coordinates.
Main Locations
Top Eternal Fire (Two Spots)
- Location #1: Fire Elementals east of Dun Niffelem, around Frostfield Lake at (70.4, 60.6) and eastward
- Kill Seething Revenant elementals for Crystallized Fire
- One of the best Eternal Fire farming spots in WotLK (if your faction does not hold Wintergrasp)
- Kill Brittle Revenant elementals for Crystallized Earth, also present at this lake
- Phasing warning: These spawns shift with your Sons of Hodir quest progress. If Brittle Revenants stand where you expected fire elementals, or the Wailing Winds are missing after The Refiner’s Fire, push your Sons of Hodir reputation and the normal spawns return.
- Location #2: Fire-Wind Elementals inside Frostfloe Deep, the old Taunka burial caverns northwest of Camp Tunka’lo, at (62.4, 41.6) and northward
- Kill Wailing Winds elementals for Crystallized Fire
- Scion of Storm elementals are also found here, which drop Crystallized Air and Relics of Ulduar. They cast Zephyr as they die, a brief 50 percent speed burst, so chain your pulls into it.
- Alternate between the two to dodge competition. Eternal Fire remains in high demand for Cardinal Ruby transmutes and pre-BiS crafting.
Eternal Air Farming
- Location #1: Abundant Stormrider Elementals in the northwest at (26.6, 41.8) near the Snowdrift Plains to farm Crystallized Air
Farm Stormrider and Scion of Storm for Eternal Air in these spots. - Location #2: Scion of Storm elementals hold the same Frostfloe Deep caverns and the slopes just east toward Thunderfall (62.4, 41.6) and northward
Eternal Water and Earth Farming
- Locations: Spawn points west of Brunnhildar Village at (43, 64.8) and Frostfield Lake (70.4, 60.6)
- Kill Icebound Revenant elementals for Crystallized Water. Mine them for Crystallized Earth
- Kill Brittle Revenant elementals for Crystallized Earth, near the fire elementals at Frostfield Lake (70.4, 60.6)
- High mob density allows better farming, especially near Eternal Fire locations. These elements are useful for crafting pre‑BiS resistance and epic gear.
Jormungar Farming (Borean Leather & Arctic Fur)
- Location: Spawn point (57, 63.4) just southeast of Dun Niffelem and spawn point inside a cave (entrance at 47, 55) near the Engine of the Makers in the Foot Steppes.
- Kill Roaming Jormungar and Ravenous Jormungar worms at the (57, 63.4) spawn point to obtain Worm Meat and Jormungar Scale. Skin for Borean Leather and Arctic Fur
- Kill Infesting Jormungar at the cave at (47, 55), move northward.
- Materials: Worm Meat + Borean Leather + Jormungar Scale + Arctic Fur
- Jormungar Scales gain a higher value during the ICC Phase for crafted BoE items
- Worm Meat is needed for Great Feast crafting in early WotLK and casual raids.
Titanium Ore & Other Mining
- Titanium Ore, the most valuable ore in WotLK, spawns here, alongside abundant Saronite. Titanium veins can give all four Crystallized element types.
- Materials: Titanium Ore + all four Crystallized element types
- Limited spawn locations make it extremely profitable. They are used to craft Titansteel Bar, which is required for high-end Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting recipes, including the Mechano-hog and Mekgineer’s Chopper mounts. Titanium Ore is also a component in Ulduar-phase Enchanting recipes, such as Enchant Weapon – Blade Ward
Arctic Cloud Harvesting for Eternal Water and Air
Arctic Cloud motes spawn at various spots across the zone. Extract with the Zapthrottle Mote Extractor for Crystallized Water and Air. Easy to miss if you’re not watching for them.
High-Level Herb Spawns
- Lichbloom & Icethorn: These are the primary endgame herbs, needed for flask production and Inscription. The high-level zone requirement keeps competition low.
Profession Pairings
- Mining (Titanium/Saronite)
- Skinning (Jormungar, Arctic Fur)
- Herbalism (Lichbloom, Icethorn)
- Engineering (cloud harvesting)
- Paired with a combat‑capable class (or an alt), it is the most lucrative mix.
- Combine combat and gathering: fight elementals, and look for mines, herbs, and clouds during respawn intervals.
Key Materials
- Titanium Ore: The highest-value ore in Northrend. Prospecting Titanium feeds Jewelcrafters with rare epic gems, and the ore itself is needed for Titansteel cooldowns. Always sells.
- Eternal Fire: Required for Titansteel bars, flask crafting, and high-end enchants. Demand never drops because raiders always need these.
- Lichbloom + Icethorn: The two endgame herbs. Flask crafting and Inscription consume both all expansion.
- Crystallized Elements: Water, Air, Fire, and Earth all drop across the zone. Steady, constant income.
Gathering Circuit
In-zone, fight elementals and check for veins, herbs, and Arctic Clouds during respawn intervals, the clouds especially are easy to miss.

Engineers: Check gas cloud spawns between elemental farming passes. Arctic Cloud motes in Storm Peaks are easy to miss if you aren’t watching for them.
Farming Tips
- Frostfloe Deep (the Wailing Winds cave above) has dense, tightly packed pulls that work well for AoE classes, Mages, Death Knights, and Ret Paladins clear it efficiently.
- Storm Peaks has multiple Eternal Fire hotspots spread across the zone. If one spot is taken, move to the next rather than waiting.
- Off-peak hours matter here. The farming population is smaller than Sholazar or Icecrown, but the good spots are concentrated enough that even two or three competitors cut into your yield.

Seething Revenant at Frostfield Lake (70.4, 60.6) east of Dun Niffelem and Wailing Winds in Frostfloe Deep (62.4, 41.6) northwest of Camp Tunka’lo drop Crystallized Fire. Best Eternal Fire spots when Wintergrasp is unavailable. High demand for Cardinal Ruby transmutes and pre-BiS crafting.
Brittle Revenant at Frostfield Lake (70.4, 60.6) east of Dun Niffelem drops Crystallized Earth for Eternal Earth. Shares spawn area with Seething Revenant (Crystallized Fire). Dual elemental farming location for earth and fire materials.
Stormrider at Snowdrift Plains (26.6, 41.8) and Scion of Storm in and around Frostfloe Deep (62.4, 41.6) drop Crystallized Air for Eternal Air. Scions also drop Relics of Ulduar. Two prime air elemental farming locations.
Icebound Revenant west of Brunnhildar Village (43, 64.8) drops Crystallized Water for Eternal Water. Mineable for bonus Crystallized Earth. Dual-purpose farming for water and earth materials.
Roaming Jormungar and Ravenous Jormungar southeast of Dun Niffelem (57, 63.4) drop Worm Meat and Jormungar Scale. Skin for Borean Leather and Arctic Fur. Scale value increases during ICC phase.
Infesting Jormungar in Foot Steppes cave (entrance 47, 55) near Engine of the Makers drop Worm Meat and Jormungar Scale. Move northward upon entering. Skin for Borean Leather and Arctic Fur. Dense cave spawns for efficient Jormungar farming.
Titanium Ore nodes throughout Storm Peaks provide the most valuable ore in WotLK, plus all four Crystallized element types. Essential for Titansteel Bar crafting (Mechano-hog mounts, high-end Blacksmithing, Engineering, Jewelcrafting). Limited spawns ensure high profitability throughout expansion.
Saronite Deposit spawns are abundant throughout Storm Peaks, providing high-volume mining for Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting. Yields Saronite Ore plus Crystallized elements. Consistent demand throughout WotLK for mid-to-high tier crafting recipes.
Arctic Cloud motes throughout Storm Peaks yield Crystallized Water and Crystallized Air via Zapthrottle Mote Extractor. Multiple spawn locations across the zone for dual-element farming. Essential engineering-only resource for Eternal Water and Air.
