Lore Context
Your character finds a mysterious gleaming metal inside the slag from the iron giants, and logically deduces that the fire revenants patrolling a frozen lake could provide the heat needed to refine it.
The refined ore turns out to be something significant enough to catch Thorim’s attention, driving the next step in the Sons of Hodir alliance.
Easter Eggs
Explore the Storm Peaks’ hidden easter eggs, lore mysteries, and connections across Warcraft history in Vikstone’s Storm Peaks Chronicles, along with the complete quest storyline.
Vikstone's War JournalThe metal came off one of the iron giants at Fjorn’s Anvil, and under the slag there was something that had no business in a construct built for siege work.

Burning the slag away wanted more heat than I had on me. What I had instead was a lake to the south with fire revenants walking about on it.
The Seething Revenants do not strike so much as adhere. They come in close and let the heat do the work, so the trick is to break them apart at arm’s length and never let them take hold of anything. Ten came apart that way, and each one left behind a piece of itself still burning in my palm.
I carried the ten back east to Fjorn’s own anvil.
It was still hot. A day after I put him down beside it, the surface was scalding to the touch in that air.
I set the metal on it and added the sparks, and they went at the ore with a will. When they had burned themselves out the slag was gone and what lay underneath threw a light of its own.
Titan-make. I was certain of it.
The only person worth showing it to was the one who would recognize it as A Spark of Hope.
