“Everything seems to be in order. However, if you don’t mind, I would ask that you speak with your ambassador here at the temple. She has something of great import for you that needs taking care of before we send you up to the queen.
<He pats at the letter under his sleeve.>
I’ll keep this safe for you until your return.”
-Tariolstrasz

Quick Facts
Walkthrough
After accepting the quest from Tariolstrasz outside, walk through the western entrance into the temple’s ground floor. Lauriel Trueblade is inside at [60, 55]. She carries the title <Alliance Ambassador>, so she’s easy to spot. Talk to her to complete the quest.
That’s it. No travel, no combat.
Why Doesn’t Tariolstrasz Send You Straight to Alexstrasza?
The quest text makes this clear through Tariolstrasz’s dialogue. He takes your letter of introduction, reads it, and tucks it into his sleeve, but instead of sending you upstairs to the queen, he tells you to speak with your faction’s ambassador first because she has something that “needs taking care of before we send you up to the queen.”
Lauriel Trueblade’s response fills in the gap: by completing a task for the dragons, you’ll be “ingratiating yourself” with them.
“Dragons have their protocols.”
In practice, this means you need to prove your worth at the Ruby Dragonshrine before the dragons will grant you an audience. Tariolstrasz is holding your letter of introduction until you return.
Lore Context
Lauriel Trueblade serves as the Alliance’s official representative at Wyrmrest Temple, maintaining the diplomatic relationship between the Valiance Expedition and the Wyrmrest Accord.
She later plays a direct role in the war effort: when the Scourge assaults the Ruby Dragonshrine, she sends Alliance regiments to help the red dragonflight repel the undead, which is exactly where the chain sends you next.
The tension between urgency and protocol is deliberate. You just raced here from Stars’ Rest with critical intelligence about the blue dragonflight’s attack plans, and the dragon steward’s response is essentially “prove yourself first.”
The dragonflights, ancient and accustomed to operating on geological timescales, sometimes struggle with the pace of mortal crises.
Cross-Expansion Connection
Lauriel Trueblade reappears in Cataclysm in the Twilight Highlands, continuing her role as a military liaison between the Alliance and the dragonflights during the war against Deathwing and the Twilight’s Hammer cult.

Vikstone's War JournalTariolstrasz took Modera’s letter; a dragon wearing an elf’s form, reading human paperwork.

“Everything seems to be in order.” He folded the letter and tucked it into his sleeve. “However, if you don’t mind, I would ask that you speak with your ambassador here at the temple. She has something of great import for you that needs taking care of before we send you up to the queen.”
Protocols, even with blue dragons assaulting the skies above us?
“I’ll keep this safe for you until your return,” Tariolstrasz added, patting his sleeve.
Lauriel Trueblade waited in the temple’s lower reaches. Kaldorei, which I hadn’t expected, an Alliance ambassador who’d spent years being the least powerful person in every room and made it work.
“You must be Vikstone.” She already knew. “I was told you’d be coming. I have something that I think you’re uniquely qualified to take care of, and by doing it, you’ll be ingratiating yourself with the dragons here. Dragons have their protocols.”
I understood. The news I carried about Malygos’s assault was urgent. But dragons had existed for millennia, and they didn’t alter their methods for mortal schedules. If I wanted an audience with Alexstrasza, I would earn it on their terms.
“What do you need?” I asked.
“The Ruby Dragonshrine is under attack. Ceristrasz will explain. Prove yourself there, and the dragons will hear what you have to say.”
The Ruby Dragonshrine meant the red flight, Alexstrasza’s own children. If they needed help, perhaps my news and their crisis were connected.
“I’ll go.”
Trueblade sent him southeast instead, because a dragon named Ceristrasz wanted mortal help holding sacred ground, so Report to the Ruby Dragonshrine comes first.
