“If we can’t overcome the defenders inside Thor Modan, the iron dwarves can hold out forever. The Earthen are bravely taking on the constructs built by the sons of iron, but they cannot break into the city. The tunnels narrow too quickly for my fellow giants to be of use, so our options are few.
Would you be willing to venture into the city and kill the dwarf commanding the resistance?”

Lore Context
Kurun is a stone giant allied with the earthen who has been bombarding Thor Modan from the hilltop. But the giants are too large to enter the narrowing tunnels of the city, so Kurun needs an adventurer small enough to slip inside and assassinate the iron dwarf commander directly.
Iron Thane Argrum is the ruler of Thor Modan, commanding the iron dwarf defense. His death doesn’t end the conflict entirely, but breaks the organized resistance enough for the earthen to mop up the survivors. The chain continues with Kurun directing you to Gavrock, an earthen leader, to address the deeper issue of how the iron dwarves maintain control over their constructs.

Vikstone's War JournalKurun spoke from the hilltop, his voice deep enough to feel in my chest. “The Earthen are bravely taking on the constructs built by the sons of iron, but they cannot break into the city. The tunnels narrow too quickly for my fellow giants to be of use. Would you be willing to venture into the city and kill the dwarf commanding the resistance?”
A giant asking a night elf to do what he could not.

The passageways wound deep, flickering runes casting blue-white light across stone walls. Earthen warriors fought beside me, their determination as solid as the rock from which they were hewn. Iron constructs and runic dwarves contested every step.
At last, the city’s heart: a vast chamber where Iron Thane Argrum waited. Runes burned across every plate of his intricate armor. He regarded me with cold contempt.
“You dare test iron’s endurance, night elf?”
He lunged. His hammer swung, each blow slamming against my guard with force that numbed my arms. I matched him, driving forward, waiting for the opening.
It came. A decisive strike shattered his defense. His hammer clattered to the floor. The runic light flickered and died as he crumpled.
Kurun nodded when I returned. “Well done. The loss of the iron dwarf commander should be enough to break the remaining defenders. The Earthen should be able to deal with the survivors.”
Thor Modan would know peace. For now.
Argrum is dead, but the iron dwarves’ hold over their constructs runs deeper than one commander. The earthen need answers about how that control works, and an old ally named Gavrock has them in Gavrock.
