Walkthrough

Completing the Valiant’s Challenge

• Before this quest becomes available, you must earn 25 Valiant’s Seals by completing Valiant-level dailies (5 seals per day across 4 daily quests, so a minimum of 5 days).
• Once you have 25 seals, turn in The Valiant’s Charge to receive The Valiant’s Challenge, which requires you to defeat a mounted Champion NPC in the jousting ring.

Turning In A Champion Rises

• After defeating the Valiant’s Challenge, your city’s delegation leader offers A Champion Rises.
• Walk to the Argent Pavilion (the large central tent on the western side of the grounds) and speak with Justicar Mariel Trueheart at [69.7, 22.8].
• Mariel formally enters you in the champions’ grand melee and assigns you a personal squire: the Argent Squire (Alliance) or Argent Gruntling (Horde), a companion pet that carries the banner of any city you have championed.

What Champion Rank Unlocks

Reaching Champion is the pivotal progression milestone in the Argent Tournament, opening up several major content paths:

• Champion Daily Quests: Four new dailies awarding Champion’s Seals and reputation:
  • Among the Champions (collect Marks of the Champion via jousting)
  • Taking Battle To The Enemy (kill 15 Cult of the Damned)
  • Battle Before The Citadel (mounted combat against Boneguard Commanders near the Citadel)
  • Threat From Above (group 3 daily to kill frost wyrm Chillmaw; requires completing The Black Knight’s Fall)
• The Black Knight’s Fall: The final quest of the Patch 3.1 Black Knight chain becomes available, requiring Champion rank.
• Champion for Other Cities: You can now speak to other faction city delegations to become a Valiant for a second city, repeating the Valiant process to earn Champion status with all five faction cities.
• Faction Quartermasters: Each city’s quartermaster sells unique mounts, tabards, and pets purchasable with Champion’s Seals once you are their Champion.

Efficiency Tips

• You can be a Champion for one city while simultaneously being a Valiant for another. This means you can run Champion dailies and Valiant dailies in parallel, earning both Champion’s Seals and Valiant’s Seals each day.
• Champion’s Purse vs. Champion’s Writ: Most Champion dailies let you choose between a Champion’s Purse (gold, chance at a bonus Champion’s Seal) or a Champion’s Writ (250 reputation with a faction city). Take the Purse if you are already exalted with your cities or primarily want Seals. Take the Writ if you are working toward exalted for the Crusader title.
• Do not rush to Champion all five cities at once. If you are on your last city, consider leaving the Valiant turn-in incomplete so you can continue earning both Valiant and Champion dailies simultaneously. Once you are Champion of all five with no Valiant chain active, you lose the Valiant daily income.
• Champion dailies come in two flavors, one set from the Argent Crusade and one from the Knights of the Ebon Blade, and the Ebon Blade versions pay Ebon Blade reputation instead. Their NPCs stand near [73.7, 19.8].

Lore & Secrets

The Road to Crusader

Becoming a Champion of one city is just the beginning. To earn the Crusader title, you must reach Champion status with all five of your faction’s capital cities and achieve Exalted reputation with the Argent Crusade. The Crusader title unlocks additional daily quests and exclusive rewards.

Over the full course of championing all five cities, you can expect to earn approximately 11,250 reputation with each capital city from the Valiant dailies alone.

The Argent Squire

Your new companion pet is more than decorative. With an Argent Pony Bridle (purchased for 150 Champion’s Seals at Crusader rank), the squire gains the ability to access your bank, mailbox, or a vendor for 3 minutes on a 4-hour cooldown, making it one of the most useful non-combat pets in the game.
