Walkthrough
Harpoon Master Yavus is located in the main harpoon structure at Nifflevar, SOUTHEAST of Lieutenant Icehammer’s position.
Finding the Building: Look for the largest harpoon hut on the bluffs at approximately [65, 56]. The building has two large wooden beams shooting toward the center of town as support, with chains closer to the cliff edge.
Finding Yavus Inside: He’s on the SECOND LEVEL of the hut, standing against the back wall.
Warning: Yavus is camouflaged. His armor blends into the hut’s wooden walls.
Kill Yavus and return to Lieutenant Icehammer.
Combat Tips
Yavus is a level 70 vrykul with actual combat abilities.
Grievous Slash Warning: The bleed from Grievous Slash continues until you heal to full health. Bring bandages, potions, or self-healing abilities to remove this DoT after combat.
Respawn Warning: Very quick respawn time. Clear Yavus and move out promptly.
Approach Options
Standard Approach: Fight through Nifflevar’s vrykul population to reach the harpoon building. This provides full XP and loot from trash mobs.
Incense Burner Trick: If you have the Incense Burner from The Echo of Ymiron and haven’t completed Anguish of Nifflevar, you can use it to enter the spirit world and bypass most village mobs.
Flying Approach (if available): Approach from the fjord side and drop through the building’s roof to land directly inside, avoiding all trash. Use the same method to escape if the area is contested.

Upon completion:
“It’ll take them a while to find a replacement for Yavus. Now is the perfect time to unleash Zorek’s plan! While they’re scurrying to regain control of Nifflevar, you’re going to use their own harpoon guns against them!”
This sets up the chain’s climax. With Yavus dead, the vrykul harpoon operations are in disarray, creating the perfect opportunity to commandeer their weapons.

We’ve located the vrykul responsible for most of the harpoon attacks on our frigates. Goes by the name of Yavus. Main harpoon structure on the bluffs, southeast of here.”
He leaned forward.
“Track him down and execute him for crimes against the Alliance. Do me proud.”
The harpoon platform jutted from Nifflevar’s cliffs like a siege tower, overlooking the waters where Alliance ships had been torn apart. Yavus stood at its center, big even by vrykul standards, surrounded by the machinery of his trade.
He threw a harpoon that would have pinned me to the wall if I’d been slower, then drew a blade and closed the distance himself.
Yavus was faster than his size suggested, his slashes opening wounds that kept bleeding even after I pulled clear. When I pressed him hard enough, his attacks came faster, wilder, a harpoon master abandoning technique.
Icehammer nodded when I returned.
“It’ll take them a while to find a replacement. Now is the perfect time to unleash Zorek’s plan. While they’re scurrying to regain control of Nifflevar, you’re going to use their own harpoon guns against them.”
Yavus was dead and the harpoon crews were in disarray, and Icehammer reckoned it was time to turn Zorek’s plan loose on the weapons that had been sinking Alliance ships, because now It Goes to 11…
