Quest Giver: Image of Drakuru — summoned at Drak’atal Passage brazier [44.9, 28.4] (from completing My Heart is in Your Hands)

Objective: Collect the Drakkari Tablets from the crypt at Drakil’jin Ruins, gather 5 Sacred Mojo from Drakkari trolls outside, then use Drakuru’s Elixir at the brazier to summon and turn in to the Image of Drakuru.

Do Alongside

Before heading to the ruins, stop at Harkor’s Camp [73, 34] southeast of Drakil’jin and pick up:

• Therapy from Harkor — kill 10 Drakkari Protectors and 10 Drakkari Oracles (same mobs that drop Sacred Mojo)
• It Takes Guts… from Kraz — collect 5 Drakkari Canopic Jars inside the crypt (same dungeon as the Tablets)
• Inside the crypt: Dun-da-Dun-tah! escort quest from Harrison Jones (in the same room as the Tablets)

Doing all four together turns this into one efficient sweep of the entire ruins area.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Travel to Drakil’jin Ruins

• Head to the eastern coast of Grizzly Hills. The Drakil’jin Ruins [72.6, 24.6] are south of Thor Modan and east of Westfall Brigade Encampment. The ruins are an ancient Drakkari burial complex with a massive aboveground structure and an underground crypt system.

Step 2: Enter the Crypt and Retrieve the Drakkari Tablets

• The crypt entrance is at [71.4, 23.3], a tunnel opening in the ruins. This is the hardest part of the quest to find; the entrance blends into the surrounding stonework.
• Navigate through the underground passages to the northernmost room at [69.4, 18.2]. The Drakkari Tablets are on the ground in the same room as Harrison Jones (caged) and several other cages.
• Watch your step: It’s possible to walk onto a ledge behind the tablets and fall behind them, getting stuck. Approach from the center of the room.
• If you have It Takes Guts…, collect the 5 Drakkari Canopic Jars from the crypt passages as you go. Opening a jar spawns a hostile Ancient Drakkari spirit (Soothsayer or Warmonger), so don’t open multiple at once.

Step 3: (Optional) Harrison Jones Escort

• Harrison Jones is in a cage in the same room as the Tablets. Free him to start Dun-da-Dun-tah!, an escort quest.
• Harrison leads you back through the crypt, rings a gong, and summons Tecahuna, a massive guardian cobra. Harrison can tank the snake himself; your job is killing the paired adds that spawn based on Tecahuna’s health. The adds do not despawn when the boss dies, so finish them off.
• Harrison says “Aww, not a snake!” when Tecahuna appears, and calls you “kid” throughout. He escorts you outside and disappears with “See ya ’round, kid!”
• Turn in to Harkor at Harkor’s Camp [73, 34] after exiting.

Step 4: Collect 5 Sacred Mojo

• Exit the crypt and kill Drakkari Oracles and Drakkari Protectors around the exterior ruins.
• Drop rate is inconsistent (reports range from ~50% to as low as 1 in 10), but generally better than Desperate Mojo from the previous quest.
• If doing Therapy simultaneously, you need 10 of each mob type anyway, which typically yields 5 Sacred Mojo along the way.
• Sacred Mojo is tradeable and not soulbound. It has a vendor sell price, so don’t farm extras unless you want to lose gold when the elixir consumes them all.

Step 5: Use the Elixir at the Brazier

• Drakuru’s Brazier is at [71.7, 26.2], outside in the ruins (NOT inside the crypt). It’s near broken stairs in the courtyard area.
• Right-click Drakuru’s Elixir in your inventory while near the brazier.
• CRITICAL: The elixir consumes ALL Sacred Mojo in your bags, not just 5. One player reported losing 10 mojo in a single use. Farm exactly 5, then use the elixir.
• Use the Elixir, not the Mojo. As with every Drakuru brazier quest, you right-click the purple elixir vial, not the mojo item.

Step 6: Turn In

• Speak with the Image of Drakuru, choose your reward, and accept Cleansing Drak’Tharon, the dungeon quest that concludes the Grizzly Hills portion of the chain.

Zim’bo Shortcut (Still Works) If the Sacred Mojo drop rate is punishing you, the Zim’bo workaround from previous quests still applies:

1. Kill Warlord Zim’bo at Zeb’Halak [14.5, 37.7] for Zim’bo’s Mojo.
2. Use the elixir at the Zeb’Halak brazier for the “Envisioning Drakuru” buff (5 minutes).
3. Ride/fly to the Drakil’jin brazier [71.7, 26.2] and turn in with the “?” marker.

Note: You still need the Drakkari Tablets in your bags. This shortcut only skips the mojo farming.

Troubleshooting

• Can’t find crypt entrance: It’s at [71.4, 23.3]. The opening is in the ruins; don’t try to reach [69, 18] from the surface.
• Brazier not appearing: Rare reports of the brazier being invisible. Relog and return. Confirm you haven’t gone to the wrong brazier (Drak’atal, Zeb’Halak, or Drak’Zin are all different locations).
• Lost elixir: Return to Drakuru at Granite Springs [15, 48] for a replacement.
• Abandoned quest restart: If you dropped this quest, you may need to restart from My Heart is in Your Hands at the Drak’atal brazier.

Lore Context

Drakuru now has all three artifacts: the Eye of the Prophets on his brow, the Heart of the Ancients on his chest, and the Drakkari Tablets in hand. He calls these components for a “cleansing ritual” to save Drak’Tharon Keep from the Scourge.

The Tablets are ancient records that “nobody be knowin’ how old dey be or what dey be sayin'” and only the combined power of the Eye and Heart allows Drakuru to read them. In reality, they contain the ritual that will hand the Keep to the Lich King.

Drakuru’s line “They’d be proud to be dyin’ for such a cause” (about the trolls you kill for Sacred Mojo) is chilling in retrospect. He’s talking about his own people dying to fuel a ritual that betrays them all.

The Drakil’jin Ruins serve as a burial ground for Drakkari kings stretching back millennia. After the war, the Bronzebeard brothers visited these ruins and noted them as “a treasure trove for anyone who wants to learn more about the Drakkari during their glory years,” finding only wandering, non-hostile spirits remaining.

Easter Eggs

• Harrison Jones is WoW’s long-running Indiana Jones homage (Harrison Ford + Indiana Jones). His WotLK appearance in the Drakil’jin crypt references the tomb-raiding sequences from the films, complete with ancient traps, a giant snake he’s afraid of, and a damsel in distress (Adarrah). The quest name Dun-da-Dun-tah! represents the first four notes of the Indiana Jones theme.
• Harrison first appeared in Zul’Aman (TBC), returns here in WotLK, then becomes a major questline NPC in Cataclysm’s Uldum zone, a garrison follower in Warlords of Draenor, and appears during the BfA Assault in Uldum. His companion Adarrah (rescued during the escort) also returns in Uldum.
• Harkor’s companion Kraz is a troll witch doctor who reads entrails from the Canopic Jars. His quest chain (It Takes Guts… → Drak’aguul’s Mallet → See You on the Other Side → Chill Out, Mon → Jin’arrak’s End) is a separate storyline about putting restless Drakkari spirits to rest, running parallel to Drakuru’s chain.
