Quest Giver: Image of Drakuru — summoned at Drak’Zin Ruins brazier [13.2, 60.9] (from completing Subject to Interpretation)

Objective: Bring the Eye of the Prophets to Drakuru at his brazier in Zeb’Halak. You’ll need Zim’bo’s Mojo to fuel the elixir.

Walkthrough

This quest moves you from the southern ruins (Drak’Zin) to the northern ruins (Zeb’Halak). Everything for this quest is within Zeb’Halak.

Step 1: Kill Warlord Zim’bo

• Warlord Zim’bo is inside the largest hut in Zeb’Halak at [14.5, 37.7]. Look for the hut decorated with voodoo masks around the top.
• Kill him and loot Zim’bo’s Mojo. He respawns in under a minute, so even on a busy server there’s minimal wait.
• Important: Zim’bo’s Mojo is NOT a quest item. In groups, each member needs their own kill and loot.

Step 2: Collect the Eye of the Prophets

• Climb the stone ziggurat (stepped pyramid) in Zeb’Halak. At the top [17.7, 36.6] is a glowing Seer Shrine, a stone head with blue-glowing ruby eyes.
• Right-click the shrine to collect the Eye of the Prophets.

Step 3: Use the Elixir at the Brazier

• Drakuru’s Brazier is directly in front of the Seer Shrine at the top of the ziggurat [17.4, 36.4]. You don’t need to go back down.
• Use Drakuru’s Elixir from your inventory while standing near the brazier. This consumes Zim’bo’s Mojo and summons the Image of Drakuru.
• Critical: Use the Elixir, not the Mojo. Clicking the Mojo directly doesn’t work. Right-click the purple Elixir vial.
• Speak to the Image of Drakuru to turn in the quest and pick up Heart of the Ancients.

Common Pitfalls

• Make sure you have both Zim’bo’s Mojo AND the Eye of the Prophets in your bags. The elixir won’t activate without the mojo.
• Ensure you’re at the Zeb’Halak brazier [17.4, 36.4], not the Drak’Zin brazier [13.2, 60.9].
• Abandoned and need to restart: If you abandon this quest, you must return to Zeb’Halak, kill Zim’bo, and use the elixir at the Zeb’Halak brazier. The summoned Drakuru will re-offer the quest. Alternatively, you can summon Drakuru at Zeb’Halak to get the “Envisioning Drakuru” buff, then run to the Drak’Zin brazier to pick it up there within 5 minutes.

Do Alongside

• Seared Scourge: If available, this quest sends you to the area near Drak’Tharon Keep north of Zeb’Halak, which is on the path you’ll travel for future chain quests.

Lore Context

Drakuru tells you the Eye of the Prophets is one of a “legendary set of artifacts” that can make Drak’Tharon Keep impervious, and claims retrieving them will help his people reclaim the keep. He expresses regret about killing Zim’bo: “It be a shame to kill Zim’bo, mon, but he swore da blood oath to defend Drak’Tharon and he done failed.”

Warlord Zim’bo actually has a line referencing Drakuru’s treachery: “Betrayed by one of our own we were. Disgraced.” This is one of the earliest NPC clues that Drakuru isn’t what he seems. The artifacts you’re collecting aren’t for protecting the Keep. They’re for Drakuru’s ritual to hand it to the Scourge.

Drakuru frames it as necessary losses in the fight for Drak’Tharon, but in truth, everything you’re doing serves his betrayal. Your actions are the sacrifice.
