“Mrrfrmrfrrmrrr…
<The Leaper clears his throat.>
Sorry about that. It can sometimes be hard to understand what I’m saying. You know how it is. I wanted to make sure that if you find yourself at the Savage Ledge, over the mountains to the west, that you make sure to eliminate the competition there.
Specifically, I’d like you to challenge to duels and humiliate Sigrid Iceborn, Efrem the Faithful, Onu’zun, and Tinky Wickwhistle in front of the vrykul.”

Challenge and Defeat Each Combatant
| NPC | Coords | Race/Class | Key Abilities | Watch Out For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sigrid Iceborn | [37.1, 22.5] | Vrykul warrior | Disengage (leaps backward away from you), Frostbite Weapon (melee proc: 330-370 Frost damage + 50% movement slow for 5 sec) | Her Disengage jump can pull nearby vrykul giants if her back faces them. Position so she leaps toward the cliff edge, not into other mobs. |
| Efrem the Faithful | [37.9, 25.2] | Human paladin (ex-Scarlet Onslaught) | Crusader Strike (60% weapon damage, stacking Holy vulnerability), Hammer of Justice (5 sec stun), Devotion Aura, Lay on Hands (full self-heal) | Can stun you with Hammer of Justice and may attempt Lay on Hands. Surrenders partway through the fight. Keep pressure on until you get credit. |
| Onu’zun | [37.9, 22.9] | Ice troll melee fighter | Kick (interrupts casting, silences that spell school for ~10 sec) | Casters beware. If you rely on a single spell school, the silence locks you out for 10 seconds. If Onu’zun is mid-cast when he “dies,” his spell can still land and potentially kill you before you get quest credit. |
| Tinky Wickwhistle | [36.2, 23.6] | Gnome engineer | Grenade (~3k damage) | She is tiny and hard to spot from a flying mount. Use /tar Tinky if you can’t find her. Don’t underestimate the grenade damage on cloth. When defeated, she runs to the cliff edge, equips a parachute cloak, and jumps off. |

Lore & Secrets
Tinky Wickwhistle: The Evil Twin
If you’re an Alliance player who completed the Talramas quest chain in Borean Tundra, you helped the original Tinky Wickwhistle try to escape a Scourge cage inside a crashed necropolis.
Her teleportation plan backfired, creating an evil clone that was flung across Northrend. This Tinky is that evil twin. When you challenge her, she recognizes you and says she has you to thank for her existence, calling the teleport accident “the best thing that ever happened to me.”
She asks you to tell her “goody two-shoes nerd of a duplicate” that she’s moved up in the world.
Efrem the Faithful: Scarlet Deserter
Efrem is a former member of the Scarlet Onslaught who abandoned them to seek favor with the Lich King directly. His paladin abilities (Crusader Strike, Hammer of Justice, Devotion Aura) are remnants of his Scarlet training. Given that the player likely dismantled the Scarlet Onslaught’s operations in Dragonblight (New Hearthglen), Efrem’s defection makes sense.
He is the only combatant who surrenders rather than fight to the end.
Sigrid Iceborn Returns
Sigrid’s defeat dialogue promises a rematch: she says she will be “better prepared” next time. She delivers on that much later in the chain, returning as a boss fight in Battle at Valhalas: The Return of Sigrid Iceborn. She boasts that she has “fought and won the Hyldsmeet” and “trained at Valkyrion” since your last encounter.
That fight is a 5-player group quest and significantly harder.
The Leaper
The quest giver, The Leaper, opens the conversation with unintelligible mumbling before clearing his throat and apologizing. As a member of the Ebon Blade operating out of the Shadow Vault, his job is to keep rival champions from interfering with the Knights’ operations at Savage Ledge and Jotunheim beyond.
Onu’zun’s Ambition
Onu’zun explains himself before the duel, and it is the only line on the ledge that connects these four to the rest of Icecrown: “Onu’zun here to challenge the vrykul and work himself up in the ranks. Then when Onu’zun fight in Valhalas and win, Onu’zun gonna be workin’ for the Lich King!”
Every combatant on that ledge is auditioning for the same employer, and Valhalas is where that takes place.

Vikstone's War Journal“Mrrfrmrfrrmrrr…” The Leaper cleared his throat. “Sorry about that. It can sometimes be hard to understand what I’m saying. You know how it is.”
I waited.

“I wanted to make sure that if you find yourself at the Savage Ledge, over the mountains to the west, that you make sure to eliminate the competition there. Specifically, I’d like you to challenge to duels and humiliate Sigrid Iceborn, Efrem the Faithful, Onu’zun, and Tinky Wickwhistle in front of the vrykul.”
Humiliate, he said, and not kill. The Ebon Blade has begun issuing me errands with social requirements.
Sigrid Iceborn opened with twin axes and “Taste my steel, little boy!” and then spent the duel refusing to stay in front of me. She kept breaking off, throwing herself backward out of reach, and putting something into me from range before I could close again. She was still talking from the ground. “You fight well, little one. I am bested for now. We will meet again I assure you. When we do I will be much better prepared!”
Efrem the Faithful was next along the ledge. Before we began he explained that he was studying the inept fighting of these so-called combatants, that he would best them all, and that he would then be elevated to serve the Lich King. Then he offered me this. “I’ve heard that vrykul women cannot fight at all. If you wish to prove me wrong, you can try.”
I had come to him directly from being proved wrong. He surrendered.
Onu’zun spoke of himself in the third person from the challenge through the fall, and it did not improve anywhere in between. “Onu’zun go now. You’ll miss me.”
Tinky Wickwhistle knew me before I opened my mouth. “Hey, I recognize you! I guess I have you to thanks for me being here. That teleport accident was the best thing that ever happened to me. If you find yourself back in Borean Tundra, let my goody two-shoes nerd of a duplicate know that I’ve moved up in the world quite a bit!”
Borean Tundra. A gnome, a teleport that came apart, and two of her afterward. I was standing there when it happened. This is the half that went wrong, and she has never been better.
“Sorry, Tinky,” I said. “I can’t afford you as a distraction while I’m doing what needs to be done here.”
“Grrrrrrr! I’ll kneecap ya!”
She did not manage it. “YOU’RE NO FUN!” Then she ran for the edge, threw on a parachute cloak, and stepped off with a “WHEE!!!” that carried most of the way down.
The Leaper was satisfied. “That was important, elf. By driving them off, you’re keeping them from interfering with whatever we need you to do over there.”
Clearing the ledge of rivals only bought the Ebon Blade room to work, and the work itself turns out to belong to The Bone Witch.
