“Our deal is made then, Vikstone. You help me get out of these chains and I’ll help you find your little green friend. The Hyldnir who runs this mine is known as Mildred the Cruel — and with good reason. Tell her you’ve been sent to lend a hand with the mines.
Do whatever she asks until she trusts you with the keys to my shackles.”

Lore Context
This quest marks the beginning of your undercover infiltration of the Hyldnir. Lok’lira’s plan is clever: rather than fighting your way to Zeev (which she points out would get him killed), you’ll earn the mine boss’s trust from the inside. Mildred’s greeting confirms the disguise works perfectly.
She treats you as a newly assigned overseer without a second glance.
The next several quests in the chain have you performing increasingly morally uncomfortable tasks on Mildred’s behalf, disciplining enslaved vrykul and eventually making an example of a troublemaker.
This mirrors a pattern Blizzard uses throughout WotLK: forcing players to do questionable things in service of a larger goal, reflecting the expansion’s recurring theme that fighting the Lich King often requires compromising your own principles.

Vikstone's War Journal“Our deal is made then.” Lok’lira’s runes pulsed with light, and I felt the illusion settle over me like a second skin. “You help me get out of these chains and I’ll help you find your little green friend.”

I looked down at hands that weren’t mine. Blue-skinned. Larger. The illusion was unsettling in its completeness.
“The Hyldnir who runs this mine is known as Mildred the Cruel,” Lok’lira continued, “and with good reason. Tell her you’ve been sent to lend a hand with the mines. Do whatever she asks until she trusts you with the keys to my shackles.”
Whatever she asks. That phrase carried weight I didn’t like.
Mildred waited deeper in the mine, where the prisoners worked under watchful eyes. The other overseers gave her space. Even in this borrowed form, I could feel the cold authority radiating from her.
She barely glanced at my approach. “I was expecting a replacement for one of my overseers. It’s about time you showed up.”
Replacement. For the one I’d killed taking Lok’lira’s runes. The irony wasn’t lost on me.
“Let’s put you to work.”
I nodded. Kept my mouth shut. Whatever came next, I’d do what was necessary for Zeev. The cost could be calculated later.
