Lore Context
Brijana has been your handler for the combat phases of the Hyldsmeet (bear riding, proto-drake rescue), and now she passes you up the chain to Astrid Bjornrittar.
Astrid is the Hyldnir bear master, responsible for bonding warriors with their warbears. Despite your victories, Astrid makes it clear you haven’t truly earned her respect yet. There are more trials ahead before you’ll be given your own mount for the final stages of the competition.
The transition from Brijana to Astrid marks the last phase of the Hyldsmeet before you eventually reach the Drakkensryd, the aerial proto-drake combat that serves as the competition’s grand finale.

Vikstone's War JournalBrijana’s assessment was brief. “You have succeeded where many have failed, sister. Whether it be by strength and courage or mere luck remains to be seen.” She nodded toward the village. “Go back and seek out Astrid Bjornrittar. Tell her of your accomplishments.”
A pause.

“But be warned. She is not easily impressed.”
I found Astrid in the southern quarter of Brunnhildar, arms crossed, waiting as though she’d known I was coming. Her eyes took my measure in a single sweep.
“So, sister,” she said, “you think that completing a few simple chores makes you a heroine?”
Something cold moved behind her smile.
“You shall learn.”
