Objective: Ride the Captive Crocolisk to Mistwhisper Refuge, then speak to Zepik the Gorloc Hunter.
Quick Facts
Walkthrough
Rakjak finally says out loud what all the errands were for. Zepik is making a long trek north to break the gorloc shrine at Mistwhisper Refuge and frighten the “big-tongues” out of the basin, and you are going with him.
Head to the northeast side of Frenzyheart Hill, next to the tree at [57, 68].
You’ll find a Captive Crocolisk chained and waiting. Talk to it and select the dialogue option to begin the ride.
You’ll surf on the crocolisk’s back as it swims through the river to Mistwhisper Refuge [46, 39]. The ride is entirely automated and takes about a minute. Mobs along the route will ignore you, so just sit back and enjoy it. Once the crocolisk drops you off, use Zepik’s Hunting Horn to summon Zepik if he isn’t already present, and speak with him to turn in the quest.
Efficiency Tips
Lore & Secrets
Why You Are Going North
“Big-tongues” is the wolvar name for the gorlocs, the faction the game calls the Oracles. Everything up to this point has been the Frenzyheart working out whether you were useful. This is the first time they tell you what they want you for, and it turns out to be a raid on a rival tribe’s holy site.
Rakjak frames the gorlocs as thieves and vermin worth chasing off. You will hear the gorlocs describe the wolvar in almost identical terms once you reach their side of the story. The chain is built so that neither faction reads as the obvious right answer by the time you arrive at A Hero’s Burden and have to choose one.
Meet Zepik: Your Third Wolvar Companion
Zepik the Gorloc Hunter is the third and final wolvar companion you’ll work with in the Frenzyheart chain. Where Goregek was the aggressive brute and Dajik the polite healer, Zepik is the self-proclaimed greatest hunter of the tribe.
He refers to gorlocs dismissively as “big-tongues” and declares himself the best at everything. He also has strong opinions about his fellow wolvar: “Dajik tried to show me ways of hunt, but I do better when I do things my way.”
Zepik: The Walking Easter Egg
Zepik is packed with references to iconic WoW raid bosses. When summoned via his horn, he sometimes shouts: “Too soon, you have awakened me too soon! What is the meaning of this intrusion?”
This is a direct reference to Ragnaros‘s famous line from Molten Core when summoned by Majordomo Executus. He also occasionally quotes Mr. Smite from the Deadmines and asks if you’ve ever fought “big dragon or god or anything,” referencing classic world bosses and Old Gods.
Zepik is essentially a tiny wolvar who thinks he’s a raid boss.
The Crocolisk Connection
Rakjak’s progress text for Mischief in the Making mentioned Gekgek returning with a crocolisk. This is the same animal: all three tasks (hunting Serfex, gathering crystals, and Gekgek wrangling the croc) were preparations for this journey to Mistwhisper Refuge.

Vikstone's War JournalThe captive crocolisk tracked me the whole way across the clearing without moving anything except its eye.

“Zepik is best hunter of the Frenzyheart,” Rakjak announced. “Zepik hunts big-tongues, ugly things near swamps that try to steal all stuff they can find. Zepik going on long trek to break big-tongue shrine and try to scare them away. We no want big-tongues in this land anymore. There a crocolisk chained on northeast side of hill, next to tree. Go with Zepik and do what Zepik tell you.”
Break their shrine and frighten them off their own ground. I had heard that plan before, in Ashenvale and in Outland both, usually from whoever had arrived second and wanted to be first.
Mounting up took three attempts. The crocolisk’s scales were about as comfortable as sitting on a bag of swords, and there were no reins, just ridges of armor plating to grip. I strapped both weapons across my back and held on.
The beast lurched forward like a drunken kodo, sending us crashing through undergrowth and splashing across streams. Its notion of navigation was to remove whatever stood between one place and the next, and it did not distinguish much between a sapling and a stream. A family of deer watched us pass, their expressions suggesting they were witnessing either the bravest or stupidest thing they’d seen all day.
Then it decided swimming was more efficient than walking. We went into a deep pool without warning.
At Mistwhisper Refuge I dismounted on shaky legs. The crocolisk waded off without looking back, which I chose not to take personally.
I put Zepik’s horn to my lips and blew.
“Too soon, you have awakened me too soon! What is the meaning of this intrusion?”
I stood in the mud a moment. The last thing to say those words to me had been forty feet of living fire standing in a lake of it, and half the men who heard it never walked back out of that mountain. This one came up to my hip and had leaves in his fur.
“They tell Zepik you good hunter for not being Frenzyheart,” he added, and started up the bank without waiting. “We here! Must work fast. Watch out for big-tongues.”
When we reached Mistwhisper Refuge, I dismounted on shaky legs. The crocolisk gave me a smug look before lumbering off. I used the hunting horn Rakjak had provided, and Zepik appeared.
“They tell Zepik you good hunter for not being Frenzyheart,” he said approvingly. “We here! Must work fast. Watch out for big-tongues.”
Big-tongues. The gorlocs, presumably. Another diplomatic mission.
Next time, I’m walking.
Zepik wanted the gorloc shrine broken and he wanted it done fast, which turned out to mean calling down something the crystals had been holding onto in Lightning Definitely Strikes Twice.
