Goregek Strikes Again
Elder Harkek’s quest text: “Dumb Goregek stumble into chicken house and let all the chickens go!” This is the same Goregek who was your “brilliant” hunting companion two quests ago. His track record of competence continues to impress.
The reward names are a joke
Stained Coop Warmer, Egg-Warming Boots, Straw-Lined Leggings, and Cracked Nest Stabilizer. Blizzard named an entire loot table after the chicken bit.

Vikstone's War JournalToday, I chased chickens.

“Dumb Goregek stumble into chicken house and let all the chickens go!” Elder Harkek handed me a net and shooed me away. Goregek himself was conspicuously absent.
The chickens, as it turned out, were surprisingly tactical. They scattered in formation, using guerrilla tactics that would make SI:7 proud. One devious bird led me straight through a patch of thorns before darting away with a mocking cluck.
I spotted a cluster near some bushes. Approached slowly, net ready… and they bolted. One dove between my legs while another somehow got behind me. I was starting to suspect these weren’t ordinary chickens.
The last one held out until the light started going.
I found Elder Harkek when I returned. “You catch chickens? Good! I was worried about foodstuffs. I already pretty hungry.”
Foodstuffs.
Goregek never did turn up to help. I have my suspicions about where he spent the afternoon and what he was doing with his face.
The flock was back in the coop and Harkek could stop worrying about dinner, though something under the hill had been eating better than the wolvar had, in The Underground Menace.
