Walkthrough

Rakjak needs blue crystals from the river to the south before sending you on your next mission. Head to the sandy riverbanks south of The Skyreach Pillar and look for Skyreach Crystal Formations along the banks. Right-click them to collect Skyreach Crystal Clusters.

Important: Despite Rakjak’s quest text calling them “blue crystals,” the interactable ground objects are actually small, grey/silver rock formations, not the large blue crystal pillars visible in the area. Don’t confuse the two. The crystal formations are low to the ground and easy to miss if you’re scanning for the wrong color.

The highest concentration is around [59, 85], with more scattered westward toward [48, 82]. Some formations spawn slightly in the water along the river’s edge, so check there too. Return to Rakjak once you have all 8.

Efficiency Tips

• Combine with The Underground Menace. Both quests are picked up simultaneously after Flown the Coop and share the same riverbank area. Gather crystals while searching for Serfex’s rumbling ground to save a trip.
• Fast respawns. Crystal formations respawn quickly. If you don’t find 8 in one pass, loop back along the river.
• Use a flying mount. The silver formations are visible from the air, making them easier to spot among the sand and foliage.
• Herbalists: The riverbank area is rich in herb nodes. Gather while you collect if you have the profession.

Preparations for the Journey

Rakjak’s progress text reveals the bigger picture: “Almost ready for long journey. Gekgek come back with crocolisk just moment ago.”

While you’re gathering crystals and hunting Serfex, Gekgek has been wrangling a crocolisk. All three tasks are preparation for the next quest, A Rough Ride, where you’ll ride that crocolisk to Mistwhisper Refuge and meet your third wolvar companion, Zepik.

Skyreach Crystal Power

The Skyreach Crystals are native to the area around The Skyreach Pillar, one of Sholazar Basin’s five titan-constructed pillars that maintain the zone’s tropical climate. These crystals recur throughout the Frenzyheart daily quests.

After completing the faction chain, the daily version Lightning Definitely Strikes Twice sends you to use these same crystals at a shrine to channel lightning, suggesting they hold residual titan energy.
