Location: Argent Pavilion, Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown (Coordinates: 76.2, 19.1) Objective: Begin representing Darnassus in the Argent Tournament by speaking to the Darnassus Valiant representative. Speaking to the Representative: Locate Airae Starseeker, the Darnassus representative, at the Darnassus tent in the tournament grounds (Coordinates: 76.2, 19.1). Walkthrough

After completing The Aspirant’s Challenge, Arcanist Taelis offers you a quest to represent your racial capital city. For night elves (and void elves in retail), that’s Darnassus. Simply walk to Jaelyne Evensong, the night elf grand champion, inside the Silver Covenant Pavilion and speak with her. Quest complete.

What This Unlocks

Becoming a Valiant opens the second tier of tournament dailies, which award Valiant’s Seals instead of Aspirant’s Seals. You need 25 Valiant’s Seals (about 5 days of dailies) to unlock The Valiant’s Challenge, a harder jousting duel that advances you to Champion of Darnassus.

Efficiency Tips

Your first Valiant quest is always for your own race’s city. Night elves get Darnassus, humans get Stormwind, etc. After becoming Champion of your first city, you can pick any other Alliance city to champion next.
You will repeat this Aspirant > Valiant > Champion cycle for each of the five Alliance cities if you want the Crusader title. That’s 5 cities x ~5 days each = roughly 25 days of Valiant dailies total.
The new dailies (Grand Melee, At the Enemy’s Gates) are more engaging than the Aspirant versions. At the Enemy’s Gates in particular sends you on a mounted siege against Scourge forces at the foot of Icecrown Citadel, which is one of the tournament’s highlight quests.

Lore Context

Jaelyne Evensong is the night elf grand champion representing Darnassus. She and the other four racial champions (one per Alliance city) later appear as bosses in the Trial of the Champion dungeon when fought by Horde players. Alliance players instead fight the five Horde grand champions.

Each “A Valiant of…” quest represents a formal pledge to compete under a specific city’s banner. The tournament structure mirrors real medieval tournaments where knights fought on behalf of their lords and kingdoms, reinforcing the Arthurian framework that runs through the entire event.
