Gather the flowers and take them to the circle of lamps in Drak’Mar Lake in northeastern Dragonblight, near Zul’Drak and Grizzly Hills. Ask the lonely maiden for a worthy blade.”

The Third Lady of the Lake
This is the third Arthurian Lady of the Lake variant among the weapon dailies, and the most melancholy. Where A Blade Fit for a Champion’s maiden is cursed into frog form and The Edge of Winter’s maiden is frozen in ice, the Maiden of Drak’Mar is simply lonely. Her dialogue paints a sad picture:
She says the lake “has been too lonely these past years,” that “the travelers stopped coming and evil came to these waters.” She accepts the hyacinths as a gift, a rare act of kindness in a world at war, and in return offers a blade that “another traveler left here” long ago.
Unlike the other two maidens, who are imprisoned and need rescuing, the Maiden of Drak’Mar is free but abandoned. The offering of flowers is not a test of worthiness but a simple act of courtesy, making this the most human and least mythic of the three encounters.

They grow on the southern face of the Ironwall Dam. I have fought on that dam. I went back to it with a pair of gloves and picked four flowers off the ice.
Drak’Mar Lake sits where Dragonblight, Zul’Drak, and Grizzly Hills all run into one another. There is a ring of lamps out on the water at the center of it, still lit after everything. I set the flowers down inside the circle.
The Maiden of Drak’Mar came up out of the lake and settled on the lily pads. An ice troll, and nothing at all like the Drakkari I spent a season putting down.
“It’s been so long since a traveler has come here bearing flowers. The lake has been too lonely these past years. The travelers stopped coming and evil came to these waters. Your gift is a rare kindness, traveler. Please take this blade with my gratitude. Long ago, another traveler left it here, but I have little use for it.”
The travelers stopped coming and evil came to these waters. She has been at that lake through the whole of it, and that is her entire account of the war.
She did not put the blade in my hands. It came up on the lily pads beside her, and I leaned over and took it.
“There’s no doubt that this is a blade of exquisite quality and balance,” Taelis said when I brought it in. “Now I understand why these weapons are so coveted among the champions of the Alliance.”
Coveted. Somebody left it at that lake and never came back for it, and she kept it anyway, and four flowers bought it off her.
Swords fetched from lakes prove nothing about a champion, so the Crusade also wants Vikstone thinning the Scourge on its own doorstep with Training In The Field.
