As uncomfortable as it makes me, I’m prepared to accept assistance from anyone – including our resident death knight. Go to Thassarian and see if he can help us develop tactics against the Scourge that will ensure victory once we are able to mount another offensive.
We have come so far… we must not fail here!”

Lore Context
The quest dialogue reveals lingering distrust of death knights even within the faction militaries. Bartlett’s discomfort with relying on Thassarian is a practical example of the prejudice that freed death knights face throughout WotLK, despite proving their loyalty at the Battle for Light’s Hope Chapel.
Thassarian and Koltira are the Skybreaker and Orgrim’s Hammer’s respective Scourge warfare advisors because they understand the enemy from the inside.

Vikstone's War Journal“Desperate times,” Bartlett said. “As uncomfortable as it makes me, I’m prepared to accept assistance from anyone. Including our resident death knight. Go to Thassarian and see if he can help us develop tactics against the Scourge that will ensure victory once we are able to mount another offensive. We have come so far… we must not fail here!”

Thassarian keeps to the left wing of the ship, out past where the deck crew has any business being. The planks are frosted white for six feet around him and the men go the long way round rather than cross it.
“It was wise of Captain Bartlett to send you,” he said.
We have not stood on the same ground since Naxxanar, since that floating pile of a citadel over En’kilah and Valanar’s magic and Leryssa’s voice coming down through it. I have not forgotten which of us went into that room first.
“While he frets over your conflict with the Horde, someone must remain exclusively focused on the real mission here. The march on Icecrown Citadel. Who better to direct your efforts than a former servant of the Lich King?”
Mograine did the same thing outside the Breach. I have started to notice that every one of them does it. They put the collar on the table before you can ask about it.
“What do you need?”
He gave me the work. The frost did not move.
Thassarian did not want a report or a body count, he wanted a live one, because knowing how the Scourge is built matters more than knowing how many of them there are, and finding out meant taking something apart with Poke and Prod.
