“We cannot permit the Horde to control Venture Bay. The port is essential to our operations in Grizzly Hills and beyond. Captain Stoutmantle has taken the rest of the Westfall Brigade east in search of a passage through the mountains, so we’ll have no reinforcements.
Go into the field, Vikstone, and kill the Conquest Hold berserkers the Horde has sent against us. Cut them down until none remain standing. The Alliance must have this port!”

This is a straightforward kill quest. Head into the contested areas of Venture Bay and kill 10 enemy faction NPCs. Enemy players also count toward the objective.
Alliance targets: Conquest Hold Berserkers are the primary targets. They patrol the docks and Horde-occupied sections of the bay. Note that Raider Captain Kronn does NOT count toward the quest objective despite being a Horde NPC in the area.
Horde targets: Westfall Brigade marines in the Alliance-held areas of Venture Bay.
Return to your quest giver once you’ve reached 10 kills.

Lore Context
The quest text references Captain Gryan Stoutmantle leading the rest of the Westfall Brigade east, leaving Venture Bay undermanned. This is the same Stoutmantle players first met as a quest giver in Westfall during Classic. He returns to Westfall in Cataclysm to deal with the Defias Brotherhood resurgence.
The Horde version mentions Conqueror Krenna ordering the port’s capture. Krenna is the aggressive commander at Conquest Hold who is eventually challenged and replaced by her sister Gorgonna during the Horde’s Grizzly Hills questline.

Vikstone's War JournalLieutenant Stuart laid it out simply: Captain Stoutmantle had taken the Westfall Brigade east, leaving us undermanned. The Horde smelled opportunity. Conquest Hold berserkers were massing to take the port.
“Cut them down until none remain standing,” Stuart said. “The Alliance must have this port.”
So I cut them down.
Strange, after weeks of battling corrupted gods and iron constructs, to face an enemy that bled the same color I did. The berserkers fought with savagery, but savagery alone doesn’t win battles.
When the last of them retreated to count their losses, I reported back to Stuart.
“Your bravery has inspired the men,” he said. “The port will soon be ours.”
Tomorrow they would try again.
Ten berserkers down, and the port is held for another day. But Commander Howser at the lighthouse has a plan that involves Element 115, a red torpedo, and Vikstone’s willingness to ride it in Riding the Red Rocket.
