“Poor Mr. Allerton might yet help us find my brother.
<Leryssa unveils a voluminous book, not unlike an army recruitment ledger.>
I borrowed it, ok? Let’s see, does that enlistment card have a date? William saw Thassarian at the enlistment line. Their entries must be near each other… here it is! He was assigned to… Unit S? All the other military units are named after Alliance towns.
Who’s in the unit? Where are they deployed? We need rumors. See if the innkeeper’s heard anything.”
-Leryssa

Lore Context
The Investigation Continues
Leryssa’s question cuts to the heart of the mystery: a dead man enlisted in the Alliance military and was assigned to a unit with no name, no known location, and no public records. Someone went to considerable trouble to hide what “Unit S” really is — and killed William Allerton when he started asking questions.

Vikstone's War JournalLeryssa produced a book, heavy and leather-bound. An army recruitment ledger.

“I borrowed it, ok?” She didn’t look apologetic. “Let’s see… William saw Thassarian at the enlistment line. Their entries must be near each other.” Pages turned. “Here it is. He was assigned to… Unit S?”
She looked up. “All the other military units are named after Alliance towns. Who’s in Unit S? Where are they deployed?”
I had no answer. But neither did the ledger.
“We need rumors,” she said. “See if the innkeeper’s heard anything.”
James Deacon listened to my questions. Wiped a glass. Thought about it.
“Can’t say I can help you, friend.” He set the glass down. “But I might know someone who can.”
The man with the answers would need loosening first, and there is In Wine, Truth.
