Where did I hear… Oh, yes… the deserter! There’s a turn-tail in the barracks prison. Got thrown in not too long ago. Kept saying that “S” stood for suicide.

Prison Location
The prison is in the basement of Valiance Keep’s Inner Hold at [56, 71].
Navigation: From the courtyard inside the keep, look for three metal portcullises opposite the main entrance. The left portcullis is open. Go through it, and the stairs leading down to the prison are immediately visible.
How to Complete
Descend the stairs and speak with Private Brau in his cell. The quest completes upon talking to him.

Why This Matters
The mystery deepens. Unit S doesn’t follow Alliance naming conventions. A soldier who served in it calls it a “suicide” unit and deserted rather than continue. William Allerton was murdered for knowing about Thassarian’s assignment. Whatever Unit S is, people die, or worse, when they get too close to the truth.

His eyes sharpened.
“Oh, yes. The deserter. There’s a turn-tail in the barracks prison. Got thrown in not too long ago.” He leaned forward. “Kept saying that ‘S’ stood for suicide.”
Suicide.
I found Private Brau in a cell beneath the keep. He didn’t look up when I approached.
“Whad’ya want? I have enough problems as it is.”
A man who’d chosen imprisonment over his unit.
Brau knew what Unit S was and what it cost to serve in it, and what he says about the men who sent them there makes Cowards and Fools of all of them.
