Turn In: Chronicler Bah’Kini at Dubra’Jin

Objective: Enter Gundrak and recover a Drakkari Colossus Fragment.

Walkthrough

Gundrak has two entrances in northern Zul’Drak: the south entrance at [76, 21] (summoning stone nearby at [77, 21]) and the north entrance at [81, 20]. Either one works.

Inside the dungeon, make your way to the Drakkari Colossus boss area. The fragment does NOT drop from the boss itself. It drops from the Drakkari Elemental trash mobs found in the same area surrounding the Colossus. The drop rate is roughly 11%, so expect to kill several before the fragment drops.

In a normal dungeon clear, your group will kill enough of them while working through the boss area.

You only need 1 fragment. Once it drops, you’re done. Finish the dungeon and head back to Bah’Kini at Dubra’Jin.

Tips

• Grab all Gundrak quests first. In addition to Bah’Kini’s two quests, other dungeon quests may be available inside the instance entrance depending on your version. Doing them all in one run saves time.
• The boss encounter itself is a two-phase fight. The Colossus splits into a Drakkari Elemental form at 50% HP, then merges back. The main hazard is mojo puddles on the ground during the elemental phase. Move out of them quickly. The trash elementals near the boss are distinct from this boss mechanic.
• Dungeon routing note: Gundrak is a circular layout with three bosses (Slad’ran, Drakkari Colossus, Moorabi) around a central ring. You must activate the altar behind each boss to unlock the bridge to the final boss, Gal’darah. Don’t skip the altars or someone has to backtrack.

Lore Context

Chronicler Bah’Kini is a Zandalari troll scholar who accompanied her father’s expedition to Zul’Drak. While the Drakkari tear their own civilization apart sacrificing loa, the Zandalari are here to document the fall. Bah’Kini’s quest text captures this perfectly: she acknowledges the Drakkari are doing “da same old story” of tapping forbidden power, but recognizes something genuinely unprecedented about the Drakkari Colossus.

The Colossus is a golem made of fused drakkari mojo, a form of voodoo magic. While trolls have used mojo in their voodoo for millennia, fusing those magics into a golem was a revolutionary breakthrough. The Colossus was the prototype, and all the smaller mojo-based sentinels throughout Gundrak were spawned from its design. Bah’Kini wants a fragment to study how the Drakkari achieved this.

The fragment’s flavor text reads: “Spherical, but quite pointy in parts.” This is a reference to the 1993 Mike Myers film So I Married an Axe Murderer, in which Myers plays a Scottish father who describes his son’s head as “spherical, but quite pointy in parts.”

Dubra’Jin itself is a small Zandalari camp protected by a forgotten troll god of the same name. By sacrificing raptor eggs to Dubra’Jin’s statue, the Zandalari trolls stationed there receive the god’s protection against being overrun by the Drakkari.
