Quick Facts
Walkthrough
After you prove yourself against 15 Shardhorn Rhinos, Hemet decides you’re ready to pursue the real prize: “the rhino patriarch that’s rumored to dwell in the jungle.” But even Hemet admits he needs help finding this beast.
He tells you: “We’ll seek out this native sage and have a word with him. He’s not likely to volunteer his services, though. I’m told he keeps a small lean-to near the Bones of Nozronn, just across the river to the south.”
Getting there: Head south from Nesingwary Base Camp. Cross the wooden bridge over the river and continue south. Oracle Soo-rahm is at [25, 66], near the Bones of Nozronn, a massive ancient rhino skeleton. He’s easy to spot by the yellow quest marker on your minimap. The area is safe with no hostile mobs along the path.
Speak to Soo-rahm to complete the quest. He refers to himself simply as “Rahm” and serves as a gorloc oracle who maintains a shrine at the Bones of Nozronn. This begins the unusual mid-chain detour where the Nesingwary hunting quest suddenly becomes an Oracle lore quest.

Lore Context
Nozronn, the Ancient Rhino: The Bones of Nozronn are the remains of an enormous rhino worshipped by the gorlocs. This is no ordinary skeleton. Nozronn’s spirit can still be contacted through special incense (which happens in the next quest, The Bones of Nozronn).
His sheer size, the gorloc worship, and his ability to communicate from beyond death have led to speculation that Nozronn may have been a rhino Wild God, placing him alongside beings like Ursoc (bear), Har’koa (snow leopard), and Akali (rhino loa of the Drakkari).
The Akali connection: Zul’Drak’s Drakkari trolls had their own rhino deity: Akali, a loa sacrificed by the Drakkari during the Scourge invasion. His High Prophet, Gal’darah, is the final boss of Gundrak dungeon and uses stolen rhino powers (charge, gore attacks).
If Nozronn was indeed a Wild God, Sholazar Basin and Zul’Drak would each contain the remains of an ancient rhino deity, one worshipped reverently by gorlocs, the other butchered by desperate trolls. A grim parallel.
Oracle Soo-rahm’s role: Soo-rahm is a gorloc affiliated with the Oracles, the faction that claims guardianship over Sholazar’s titan technology. However, this quest does not affect Oracle or Frenzyheart reputation. Hemet’s line about Soo-rahm being unlikely to “volunteer his services” suggests the gorlocs have no love for the hunters trampling through their sacred basin, but they cooperate because the player has earned their respect through the hunting chain.
Narrative subversion: This is the moment where Nesingwary’s utilitarian “kill things, take trophies” ethos runs headlong into the basin’s deeper spiritual ecology. The great white hunter has to humble himself and ask a gorloc mystic for help, because blunt force alone can’t locate Farunn.
The follow-up quests lean further into this: collecting cobra fangs for incense, communing with a dead rhino spirit. Hemet’s eventual dismissive response to Nozronn’s warning (“No dead rhino tells Hemet Nesingwary where and what he can hunt”) shows he learns nothing from the experience, which is very much the point of his character.

Vikstone's War Journal“We’ll seek out this native sage and have a word with him,” Hemet said. “He’s not likely to volunteer his services, though. I’m told he keeps a small lean-to near the Bones of Nozronn, just across the river to the south. Seek him out, introduce yourself, and ask what he requires to help us track down this patriarch of the rhinos.”

Crossed the river south. The Bones of Nozronn rose from the jungle floor. Whatever died here had been enormous. Titan-made, perhaps.
Found the Oracle’s lean-to in their shadow. Soo-rahm was a gorloc, small and frog-like, watching my approach. First contact with the natives Hemet had mentioned. The Oracles.
“What brings you to Rahm’s shrine?”
Told him. A rhino patriarch. Hemet Nesingwary’s hunt.
He listened.
Soo-rahm had conditions. The first involved cobra fangs and incense, which was a strange price for tracking a rhino in An Offering for Soo-rahm
