Easter Egg
Captain Ellis’s quest description includes the line “Ye don’t have to go home, but ye can’t stay here,” a nod to Semisonic’s “Closing Time” (1998). Fitting for a ghost pirate who just wants you off his cursed ship.

“Here’s yer shield,” Ellis said. “Me hopes it doesn’t curse ye like it did me’n’me crew.”
Fengir the Disgraced had promised eternal unrest for those who took it. Ellis and his crew had learned that lesson the hard way, bound to the Sister Mercy until their stolen treasure was reclaimed. Now, at last, they had it back.
But they couldn’t keep it.
“Ye don’t have to go home, but ye can’t stay here… I be certain that thar be some that would be interested in gettin’ it back.”
Ellis’s voice lost its pirate bluster for a moment.
“Now get that thing off me ship!”
I could feel Fengir’s promise thrumming through the metal, ten thousand years of grievance waiting to be appeased. Or unleashed.
I left the Sister Mercy behind, the ghost ship already fading into the fog as it resumed its endless patrol. Ellis had his booty back. What good it would do him, bound as he was, I couldn’t say.
Orfus waited at the Ancient Lift. His eyes widened when he saw what I carried.
“You have returned!” I could see his whiskers trembling. “We must return all of the artifacts. When all four are gathered, you will put them back in their graves.”
The artifacts were gathered. All that remained was carrying them back to graves that didn’t want to stay closed.
Orfus said there was one way to end the kvaldir’s fury, which is to put every one of them back where it came from and let there be A Return to Resting.
