“Our work out here is really just beginning. But now that we’ve brought these flying machines in from Westguard Keep, it should really pick up. The problem is that we’re lacking enough qualified pilots. And with things getting worse in the Rivenwood to the north, I’d like to get things wrapped up here quickly and then head back home. If you can lend a hand, go have a chat with one of my chief archaeologists.
You’ll find them next to the flying machines on the north and south sides of the site.”

“Our work out here is really just beginning,” Irena said, “but now that we’ve brought these flying machines in from Westguard Keep, it should really pick up.” She gestured toward the gnomish contraptions perched on the site’s edges. “The problem is that we’re lacking enough qualified pilots. And with things getting worse in the Rivenwood to the north, I’d like to get things wrapped up here quickly and then head back home.”
She pointed toward the excavation pit below.
“If you can lend a hand, go have a chat with one of my chief archaeologists. You’ll find them next to the flying machines on the north and south sides of the site.”
The Chief Archaeologist looked up from his work, saw me approaching, and grinned. “Irena sent you over, did she? Good, we’ve got work for you then!” He patted the flying machine beside him with obvious affection. “Ain’t she a beauty? Want to take her for a spin?”
I looked at the contraption. Gnomish engineering. Wings that seemed too small, an engine that sputtered even while idling.
The archaeologist had relic sacks at the bottom of the pit and a way down to them, which he announced as I’ve Got a Flying Machine! and left the not dying part to Vikstone.
