There is someone that might be able to assist us in infiltrating Scalawag. A pirate mercenary by the name of Grezzix Spindlesnap recently came to our village in search of food and shelter.
In exchange he gives us information about our enemies and feeds them misinformation about our attack plans.”

“The pirate thieves have set up port at Scalawag Point, far to the south. Unfortunately, they have fortified their camp with many deadly defenses.”
He gestured toward the water.
“There is someone that might be able to assist us in infiltrating Scalawag. A pirate mercenary by the name of Grezzix Spindlesnap recently came to our village in search of food and shelter. In exchange he gives us information about our enemies and feeds them misinformation about our attack plans.”
A traitor among traitors. Useful.
“Seek him out at his ship just off the coast here, southwest.”
Grezzix’s vessel was a modest affair, barely seaworthy, anchored in the shallows. The goblin himself stood at the rail, flanked by an unlikely crew: “Tiny” Jimb, his first mate, who was anything but tiny; Lou the Cabin Boy, a tauren who seemed to have wandered very far from Thunder Bluff; and Molly, a bedraggled parrot perched on the goblin’s shoulder.
Grezzix greeted me. “Yarr, matey. Grezzix never did like to get his hands dirty! A pirate’s life for Grezzix is a good one, so long as Grezzix doesn’t have to do any of the work.”
His voice dropped. “I’ve seen those artifacts. It’s the reason I’m here and not at Scalawag myself! Bad, bad things those are…”
He shrugged, recovering his mercenary composure.
“Hey, it’s your life though, right? You wanna get inside Scalawag and Grezzix can help.”
I realized he was a coward and an opportunist, but he’d been smart enough to run when he saw what the pirates had stolen. That made him the sanest person at Scalawag Point.
And now he was my way in.
Grezzix had a way to get Vikstone inside Scalawag Point, though earning a pirate’s confidence meant dirtying his hands first for a little Street “Cred”.
