Objective: Collect 8 Vordrassil’s Seeds from inside and around Grizzlemaw.

Walkthrough

Where to Find the Seeds

The seeds are ground-pickup objects scattered around Grizzlemaw [50, 42]. They look like small objects on the ground with the standard quest item sparkle. Note: the bags visible around the furbolg camps are NOT the quest seeds.

Seeds spawn in three general areas:

• Outside the stump, in the furbolg camps: The fortress/settlement area around [51, 47] has the highest concentration and fastest respawns. You can find a lot of seeds in this area alone, and complete the quest in 1-2 minutes. Look near the log houses and tents. This is the easiest and recommended location.
• Inside the stump, on the ramps: Seeds also appear along the interior ramps and upper ledges of Grizzlemaw’s trunk. You will pass through these areas naturally if descending to burn the sapling for Vordrassil’s Sapling.
• Inside the small cave: A cave accessible from the front entrance (down the ramp to the left) has a back room at approximately [50, 37] with a cluster of seeds. Flying mounts cannot be used inside this cave. The cave seeds are harder to spot and fewer in number compared to the outdoor spawns.

Combat Tips

• The seeds and sapling are primarily in Redfang territory. Kill Frostpaw furbolgs to gain the “Redfang Ally” buff (approximately 5 minutes of neutrality), which lets you collect seeds without constant aggro from Redfang furbolgs. Even torching the sapling for the companion quest does not turn the neutral Redfangs hostile.
• If the outdoor area is contested by other players, try the cave or the interior ramps as backup. Seeds respawn quickly, so even in a contested area you shouldn’t need to wait long.

Known Issue: You may be unable to pick up seeds due to addon interference. If seeds appear on the ground but you cannot interact with them, try disabling addons temporarily and re-accepting the quest.

Efficient Pathing (with Vordrassil’s Saplings)

1. Kill a few Frostpaw furbolgs on the outskirts of Grizzlemaw to gain Redfang neutrality.
2. Collect seeds in the outdoor fortress area around [51, 47] first (fast spawns, easy pickups).
3. Enter the stump and grab any additional seeds on the ramps as you descend.
4. Burn the sapling at the bottom for Vordrassil’s Sapling.
5. Fly or walk back out, collecting any remaining seeds if needed.
6. Return to Hierophant Thayreen at Amberpine Lodge [31, 59].

Lore Context

Thayreen’s urgency is justified: the furbolgs already successfully regrew Vordrassil once using these seeds, and the resulting sapling is what allowed them to resurrect (and corrupt) Ursoc. She recognizes that simply burning the sapling is not enough if the furbolgs still have access to the seeds.

Upon turn-in, she warns that “the corruptive power of these seeds is dangerous” and promises to destroy them immediately.

The seeds themselves are fascinating objects. They carry the magical essence of a World Tree, even a corrupted one. That World Tree magic is powerful enough to resurrect a dead Wild God, which speaks to the immense power that Fandral Staghelm tapped into when he planted Andrassil’s branch in Northrend over 4,500 years ago.

The tragedy is that the furbolgs’ motivation was pure (bringing back their beloved Ursoc), but the tool they used was irreparably tainted by Yogg-Saron’s influence.
