Objective: Recover 8 Wintergarde Munitions from the Carrion Fields.
Walkthrough
Cash explains the situation: “The shipment of ammo from Westguard Keep was intercepted by the frostwyrms circling overhead. The flying machines were torn apart in a matter of seconds and their cargo was scattered to the wind. Most of it is still topside, on the Carrion Fields.”
Head up out of the Mausoleum into the Carrion Fields. The Wintergarde Munitions crates are scattered across the entire area, concentrated around [88, 51] but spread widely. They appear as small wooden crates with sparkle effects on the ground.
Key tip: The crates are outside on the Carrion Fields surface, not inside the Mausoleum. Don’t waste time searching near Cash. Many crates can be picked up without pulling mobs if you approach carefully from the edges. Keep moving through the area rather than camping one spot, as respawn times mean staying in one location is inefficient.
Rogue tip: Stealth trivializes this quest. Grab crates without engaging anything.
Return to Cash inside the Mausoleum when you have all 8.

Frostwyrm Air Superiority
Cash’s briefing reveals the Scourge’s air power is a critical tactical problem. The munitions were being delivered from Westguard Keep in Howling Fjord via flying machine supply run, but frostwyrms tore the transport aircraft apart.
This is the same supply disruption players witnessed firsthand during Flight of the Wintergarde Defender, where you rescued villagers while frostwyrms and gargoyles swarmed the skies. The Alliance can’t establish reliable supply lines while Naxxramas floats overhead.
Setting Up the Next Crisis
Cash’s completion text immediately pivots: “Some of my soldiers got a little overzealous and decided to wade into the crypts directly to the east and west of us. Needless to say, they were quickly overwhelmed by those mindless ghouls. We need to rescue the survivors!”
This sets up the next quest, The Chain Gun And You, where you defend the Mausoleum entrance.

He jerked his thumb toward the mausoleum entrance. “I’m gonna need you to go back up and recover those crates. Hurry it up! We can’t start this offensive without guns and ammo.”
The Fields were quieter than before, the frostwyrms apparently moving elsewhere. I found the crates mostly buried in snow and wreckage, some still smoldering from whatever the wyrms had done to the flying machines. Eight trips through frozen mud, dragging Alliance steel back toward the mausoleum while the dead watched from a distance.
They didn’t attack. Perhaps they recognized the futility. I was only collecting what we’d use to kill more of them.
Cash nodded when I dumped the last crate at his feet. “Just in time.”
Cash’s men had gone charging into the crypts on their own initiative, and before anybody could be pulled out there was one more piece of Scourge hardware in the Fields worth Breaking Off A Piece of.
