Walkthrough

• From Gerald Green, head north to the Farshire Mine entrance at [56, 57].
• Enter the mine. The Plagued Grain is immediately visible on the floor just inside the entrance at [56, 55].
• Interact with the grain to complete the quest. You don’t need to venture deep into the mine.

Important: The quest objective is Plagued Grain, not crystals. It appears as a pile of greenish, sickly-looking grain on the cave floor.

Lore Context

• The completion text is ominous: “Your stomach feels uneasy as you approach the grain. The smell is nearly unbearable.”
• This is no ordinary spoilage. The Scourge has poisoned the grain supply with plague, explaining why the military detachment has gone silent.
• Players familiar with Warcraft III will recognize the grim significance: plagued grain is exactly what started Arthas’s descent into madness. When he discovered plagued grain being distributed to Stratholme’s citizens, his decision to purge the city rather than let them turn undead marked his first step toward becoming the Lich King.
• Finding plagued grain in Farshire echoes that catastrophe on a smaller scale. The follow-up quests deal with the aftermath: burning the remaining grain supply before more innocents consume it.
