“Farshire has a fighting chance now, Vikstone. That’s all we could’ve asked for and you’ve made it possible. All we need now is a rallying point. I’ll have my men deliver the weapons to our town hall. Go and ring the town hall bell so any survivors know to rally there. It’s time to show the Scourge what we’re made of.”

How to Complete
Flying Shortcut
If you have Cold Weather Flying (available at level 77, or earlier via Tome of Cold Weather Flight if you have a level 80 character), you can fly directly to the bell tower at the top of the building and interact with the rope from outside, skipping the interior entirely.
What Happens When You Ring the Bell
When you pull the rope, the bell tolls across Farshire. Gamlen (one of Gerald’s men) shouts: “To the town hall, everyone! We’ve brought you weapons! Arm yourselves and beat the Scourge back!” The surviving townsfolk rally to defend their homes.
Lore Context
Warcraft III Easter Egg
This quest is a direct homage to the Call to Arms ability from Warcraft III. In that game, Alliance players could activate their Town Hall to ring a bell, causing nearby Peasant workers to rush inside, don light armor and weapons, and emerge as Militia units to defend the base. A town hall, a bell, and civilians arming themselves to fight.

Vikstone's War JournalGerald clasped my arm. “Farshire has a fighting chance now. That’s all we could’ve asked for.” He nodded toward the town hall. “Go ring the bell. Let any survivors know to rally there. It’s time to show the Scourge what we’re made of.”

The stairs creaked under my boots. The bell tower stood open to the wind, the rope weathered but sound. I pulled it.
The toll rolled out across Farshire, low and steady, a sound that didn’t belong in this blighted place.
Below, Gamlen’s voice cut through: “To the town hall, everyone! We’ve brought you weapons! Arm yourselves and beat the Scourge back!”
Doors opened and figures emerged from cellars and corners, from wherever they’d hidden when the dead came. Farmers. Miners. Wives and sons. They moved toward the hall, toward the weapons, toward a fight they had no right to win.
Gerald found me after. “The people of Farshire will always remember you.”
Maybe they would. But today, they answered the bell. Today, they stood. Maybe they’d all be dead by winter.
Farshire would hold for now, but the last building still standing in it was already alight, and Vikstone would Take No Chances with what was left inside.
