Objective: Obtain the Cart Release Key from Captain Jacobs in the Farshire Mine and use it to release the ore cart.

How to Complete

1. Enter the Farshire Mine at [56, 57] and follow the tracks inside.
2. You’ll pass the ore cart first, note its location, but keep going.
3. Captain Jacobs is just a short distance past the cart. Kill him and loot the Cart Release Key.
4. Backtrack to the ore cart and click it to release it.
5. Return to Gerald Green to complete the quest.

Troubleshooting

• If Captain Jacobs doesn’t drop the key, make sure you have the quest active in your log. Some players reported needing to relog or abandon/retake the quest to fix this issue.

Lore Context

• Gerald Green’s desperation is palpable: “Inside that mine there’s a cart with the last of the ore the Alliance is going to see on this side of the continent for a long time.”
• Captain Jacobs was part of the military detachment sent to protect Farshire. When the plagued grain turned the soldiers, he rose as undead, still clutching the key to the equipment he’d commandeered in life.
• The completion text carries a note of weary hope: “This ore will be of vital importance to the Alliance in the times to come. I’d like to think we’ve made a difference today.”
