Quest Giver: Overlord Drakuru — Voltarus, Zul’Drak

Objective: Speak to Gorebag and take a gargoyle tour of Zul’Drak.

Walkthrough

Find Gorebag

• From Drakuru’s platform inside Voltarus, head to the southeastern open-air terrace at [29.8, 47.8].
• Gorebag is a geist crouching near the ledge where the gargoyles perch. He doesn’t have a quest marker over his head, but your cursor will change to a chat bubble when you hover over him.
• Make sure your Ensorcelled Choker disguise is active before speaking to him.
• If Gorebag doesn’t respond on the first click, try again. Some report needing to click him multiple times before the tour triggers.

Take the Tour

• Talking to Gorebag places you on a gargoyle for an automated flight over Zul’Drak. The tour lasts roughly 3 minutes 25 seconds.
• The route flies south to The Dead Fields, east over the Argent Stand and the Amphitheater of Anguish, then north past Drak’Mabwa, Zim’Rhuk, and Zol’Maz Stronghold to Gundrak, before sweeping back south over the Altars of Mam’toth, Quetz’lun, and Har’koa, through Drak’Sotra Fields, and back to Voltarus.
• During the flight, Drakuru whispers commentary about his plans for the zone, including his ambitions to conquer Gundrak and his claim that the Lich King rewards loyal servants.

Turn In

• Return to Drakuru inside Voltarus after landing. Turn in this quest, then use Stefan’s Horn outside (or return to Ebon Watch) to turn in Infiltrating Voltarus to Stefan Vadu.

Efficiency Tips

• Free exploration XP: If you haven’t explored much of Zul’Drak yet, this flight discovers most of the zone’s subregions automatically. You can earn 10k-50k bonus exploration XP on top of the quest reward, depending on how much of the map was already uncovered. If you want to maximize this, do this quest before manually exploring the zone.
• Hunters: Dismiss your pet before talking to Gorebag. Having a pet out can prevent you from mounting the gargoyle.
• Can’t mount? Move closer to Gorebag. The interaction range is shorter than you’d expect.
• You can cancel your disguise mid-flight without being dropped. Drakuru continues whispering regardless, and you’ll automatically re-disguise when you land at Voltarus.

Lore Context

Unlike Dark Horizon, where Drakuru treats you as a nameless new recruit, Reunited has Drakuru greeting you as an old ally. His opening line says it all: “We come such a long way, you and I, and now we be servin’ da Lich King together.”

He references your shared history from Grizzly Hills, where you unwittingly helped him gather artifacts and perform the ritual that earned the Lich King’s favor at Drak’Tharon Keep. From his perspective, you were always working toward this moment together. From your perspective (and Stefan Vadu’s), you’re about to destroy everything he’s built.

This is the eeriest version of the flight because Drakuru speaks to you with genuine warmth and trust. He shares his plans openly, calls you his partner, and hints at a future commanding his army side by side.

Every whispered ambition is information you’ll relay straight back to the Ebon Blade.
