The orders you recovered reveal the full scope of Drakuru‘s operation. The Lich King has given him command of all Scourge forces in Zul’Drak, with orders to kill everything, process corpses in the Dead Fields, and send them to Prince Navarius at Zeramas for conversion to undead. Drakuru also plans to drink the blood of the Drakkari prophets, a reference to the loa-sacrifice plotline that drives the zone’s story.
Lantinga’s reaction is significant. He recognizes Drakuru’s name from Drak’Tharon Keep and reluctantly decides to ally with the Knights of the Ebon Blade at nearby Ebon Watch. His muttered line about “those scoundrels” and Light’s Hope reveals lingering distrust between the Argent Crusade and the death knights, a tension rooted in the Battle of Light’s Hope Chapel from the Death Knight starting experience. Players who rolled a DK will recognize this callback immediately.

The pretense was gone. This was the raw truth of what I helped unleash.
The scroll detailed processing corpses in the Dead Fields, drinking the blood of Drakkari prophets, Zul’Drak and Gundrak falling to the Scourge. Industrial slaughter on a scale that made the wolvar village look like practice.
Crusader Lord Lantinga read the orders with a soldier’s grimace. “Drakuru, eh? I’ve heard the name before. If this is the same Drakuru from Drak’Tharon Keep, we’re going to need outside assistance.” He nodded toward the west. “Death knights of Acherus are stationed nearby. The Knights of the Ebon Blade.”
Death knights hunting the same prey. The blood pact on my palm had stopped itching.
Lantinga read the orders and made a decision that cost him his pride: asking the death knights of Acherus for help. The enemy of Vikstone’s enemy was stationed west of the ruins, and the road to them starts with The Ebon Watch.
