“When I heard that the legendary Hemet Nesingwary was setting sail for the Sholazar Basin, I offered to help fund his expedition. We know little of Sholazar, but it’s said to be a lush paradise in the midst of this frozen continent. Hemet has agreed to send back samples of exotic plants, reagents, and crystals. There hasn’t been any word from him. Monte Muzzleshot was supposed to be bringing them supplies, but he hasn’t returned, either.
If you’ll look into it, I’ll send you in my flying machine.”

Lore Context
Archmage Pentarus is a member of the Kirin Tor who funded Nesingwary’s expedition in exchange for exotic plant samples and crystals from Sholazar. He’s also a diehard fan of the Dalaran Destroyers and can usually be found on Krasus’ Landing eating Rhino Dogs.
Sholazar Basin is one of three “cradles of life” created by Keeper Freya, alongside Un’Goro Crater and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Titan-constructed crystal pylons keep the basin warm and lush despite being surrounded by frozen Northrend.

Vikstone's War JournalArchmage Pentarus paced the Dalaran balcony, robes snapping in the cold wind.

“Nesingwary is more than a hunter,” he explained. “He’s a link to the unknown. To places even magic can’t fully comprehend.” The archmage had funded the legendary dwarf’s expedition to Sholazar Basin in exchange for samples of exotic plants and crystals. Weeks had passed without word. “His supply runner hasn’t returned either. If you’ll look into it, I’ll send you in my flying machine.”
The contraption hummed with arcane energy. A flash of portal light, and suddenly ice gave way to green.
I barely had time to process the transformation before a crack split the air. Venture Company. Their pilot grinned through his goggles as he fired again. The machine lurched, shuddered, died.
Parachute deployed. I drifted down through air that smelled of flowers and rot, watching my transport burst into flames above the canopy. The jungle rushed up to meet me, a place that had no business existing in Northrend.
Namarie would have wanted to paint this.
A voice called from above. Monte Muzzleshot dangled from a massive tree, parachute tangled hopelessly in the vines.
“Been stuck for days,” he called down. “Aye, Hemet’s here. He’s at the camp, just go northwest toward the river and you’ll soon see it. And for the love of the Light, lad, have him send someone to cut me down!”
The jungle stretched before me. So different from Zul’Drak’s death-soaked stones. Somewhere in this verdant maze waited Nesingwary. Somewhere else, the Venture Company plotted their schemes.
Monte pointed northwest toward the river, still dangling from his tree, and Vikstone followed the sound of gunfire to Nesingwary’s camp in Welcome to Sholazar Basin
