Kill 15 Venture Company members at Swindlegrin's Dig.

Debaar at Nesingwary Base Camp sends you to Swindlegrin's Dig [33, 47] to kill 15 Venture Co. Ruffians or Excavators. Stack with Have a Part, Give a Part (spare parts, same area), Engineering a Disaster (escort quest inside the dig), and It Could Be Anywhere! (ring drops from these mobs). Note the foreman's location atop the ramp at [35, 49] for the follow-up.

Vikstone's Classic Expedition

Vikstone had killed Venture Company employees on three continents, and this batch was no better prepared than the last two. Fifteen bodies later, Debaar wanted the foreman, because cutting the roots was always better than trimming branches.

“Ever since we arrived, the Venture Company has hampered our efforts to secure our campsite and survey the area. Normally, we wouldn’t care what they were up to, but they’ve started antagonizing our scouts and shooting down supply flights. We can’t allow this insult to stand. Hemet Nesingwary’s expedition came here to hunt, and hunt it shall.

Go to Swindlegrin’s Dig, on the far side of the crystal pillar to the northeast, and kill any Venture Company employee you see!”

Quest Giver: Debaar — Nesingwary Base Camp, Sholazar Basin

Objective: Kill 15 Venture Company members (either Venture Co. Ruffians or Venture Co. Excavators) at Swindlegrin’s Dig.

Walkthrough

Head northeast from Nesingwary Base Camp, past The Suntouched Pillar (the large yellow crystal), to Swindlegrin’s Dig.
Kill any combination of 15 Ruffians and Excavators. Both count equally. They’re spread throughout the dig site and are moderately spaced, so pulling singles is easy.
Return to Debaar at camp.

Efficiency Tips

Do alongside these quests in the same trip:
- Have a Part, Give a Part: Collect 7 Venture Co. Spare Parts from the ground at the same dig site.
- Engineering a Disaster: Escort quest from Engineer Helice inside the dig (~[35, 47]). Kills during the escort count toward your 15.
- It Could Be Anywhere!: The Golden Engagement Ring can drop from these mobs. Venture Co. mobs have reportedly higher drop rates than other zone mobs.
Follow-up sends you back. Wipe That Grin Off His Face requires you to return to the dig to kill Foreman Swindlegrin (goblin in a shredder, atop a ramp ~[35, 49]) and Meatpie (large blue ogre patrolling the same ramp). If you’re thorough on your first trip and spot them, you can mentally note their patrol route for the return visit.
Completing the Venture Co. line (this quest + Wipe That Grin Off His Face) alongside the engine chain unlocks additional quests at camp, including the Mastery hunting chains and Kick, What Kick?.

She gestured toward the crystal pillar dominating the northeastern horizon.

“Hemet Nesingwary’s expedition came here to hunt, and hunt it shall. Go to Swindlegrin’s Dig and kill any Venture Company employee you see.”

The Venture Company. Same story on every continent. Stranglethorn. Nagrand. Now Sholazar. They strip the land, antagonize everyone nearby, then act surprised when violence follows.

Swindlegrin’s Dig lay beneath the Suntouched Pillar. Ruffians and Excavators walked among the platforms and scaffolding, too focused on their work to post proper sentries.

The last one standing tried to parley. “We’re just doing business!”

My axe answered before I did. “Find better business.”

“That should hamper their operations,” Debaar said when I returned. “But I worry that the foreman will try to bring in more workers. We have to complete the job while we can.”

The foreman. So there was more to do.

Fifteen workers down, and Debaar wanted the operation’s head. The foreman and his ogre enforcer were waiting at the top of the ramp in Wipe That Grin Off His Face
