Once you’re mounted, seek out Valis Windchaser. He’ll be on the northern edge of the tournament grounds at the training area east of the Aspirants’ Ring.
Valis will teach you the basics of using a ranged shield breaker attack to make a ranged target vulnerable.”

Equip your lance and mount the Stabled Quel’dorei Steed outside the pavilion. Speak to Valis Windchaser and use Shield-Breaker on 2 vulnerable Ranged Targets, then return to Scout Shalyndria at the Argent Tournament Grounds.

Objective: Equip a lance, mount a faction steed, speak to Valis Windchaser, and use Shield-Breaker on 2 vulnerable Ranged Targets. Return to your faction quest giver.

Valis will teach you the basics of using a ranged shield breaker attack to make a ranged target vulnerable.”
Valis Windchaser looked up when I rode over. “Well. Another warrior, come to learn the ways of the Shield-Breaker?”
The lesson is that you throw the lance. The target has its guard up and there is nothing to be done with the front of it, so you put your weapon into the air and let it arrive at something that cannot reach you back.
Two targets, guards down.
“Commit Valis’s lesson to memory, Vikstone,” Shalyndria said. “It will mean the difference between winning and losing your mounted combat matches.”
Thrust, charge, and shield-breaker are worth nothing against posts that never move, and finding out whether they hold up against a rider who fights back means being Up To The Challenge.
