Walkthrough

• After the Naaru depart, click Bridenbrad’s Possessions at the campfire to receive Crusader Bridenbrad’s Tabard and the quest automatically. Do not fly away before doing this.
• Fly southwest to Crusaders’ Pinnacle and speak with Tirion. He senses that Bridenbrad has gone before you say a word. His response, “He has departed, hasn’t he? I felt a small bit of light leave the land,” is one of the quieter and more affecting lines in the entire chain. He thanks you for everything and the quest completes.

Efficiency Tips

• With your Dalaran Hearthstone or a portal from Icecrown’s flight network, the return trip to Crusaders’ Pinnacle is straightforward. There is no combat in this quest.
• The five reward items are all belts or a ring. Check the links above before turning in to decide which fits your character best.

Lore & Secrets

Blizzard’s Other In-Game Tributes

• The Bridenbrad chain belongs to a tradition of Blizzard memorializing real people within Azeroth. Two other well-known examples from around the same era: Ahab Wheathoof in Mulgore was created by Ezra Chatterton, a child with brain cancer who visited Blizzard through the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2007 and designed the NPC himself, even providing its voice. Ezra passed away in October 2008.
• The Shrine of the Fallen Warrior in the Barrens memorializes Michel Koiter, a Blizzard concept artist who died of heart failure at nineteen during WoW’s development. The orc at the shrine is based on Koiter’s own beta character.
• Each of these tributes takes a different form, but the Bridenbrad chain is the most elaborate, giving its subject an entire quest arc rather than a single NPC or landmark.

Tirion’s Closing Line

Tirion says he is glad you were able to save Bridenbrad from undeath, and asks that everyone take heart in the crusader’s example and in your selflessness.

It is a soldier’s farewell: not a celebration, but a resolve to continue. The word “save” here carries a specific meaning. Bridenbrad’s body could not be saved.

What was saved was his soul.
