He said the second sentence in exactly the same tone as the first.
“I should have seen the trap before it was sprung, but there’s no use crying over spilled milk now is there? Go on before you get captured, too! I’ll see you back at the vault.”
Go and tell him I failed. Not come with me, not I will report it myself. Send the stranger ahead with it.
Veridian had me over the mountains inside the hour and Sliver was in the courtyard.
“What?! We can ill-afford to lose one death knight, let alone an entire contingent!!!” He said the number back to me twice, as though the second time might reduce it.
Then he stopped talking, which I have not seen him do before, and looked north toward Jotunheim for a while.
Whatever the vrykul want with a contingent of death knights, they did not take them to kill them. You do not trap and hold what you intend to kill. I do not know what happens to a knight of the Ebon Blade in vrykul hands, and neither, I think, does Sliver.
Vaelen was not behind me. He has not come in.
Sliver counted the loss and Lankral started planning around it, and out in the courtyard the giant Vikstone had personally killed and then handed back his own mind had a simpler proposal that needed no strategy at all, Crush Dem Vrykuls!
