Walkthrough

1. Accept quest from Peppy Wrongnozzle in the tavern.
2. Walk to the main keep building.
3. Find Captain Adams inside [28, 44].
4. Speak with him to deliver the news.

• Quick Trip: The tavern and keep are adjacent. This takes about 30 seconds.

Story Context

After watching her “vaccine” melt the vrykul prisoner into goo, Peppy realizes she needs to tell Captain Adams. But she’s not going to do it herself.

“Here’sh the deal. I’m not going to the captain with thish news. I’m an amateur alchemist, thish ishn’t my job, and I’m on break!”

She makes excuses:

“Beshides, he’sh a big grumpkin… and you know him better than I do!”

And then passes the buck entirely:

“Sho, jusht go up into the keep and tell him. I’m sure he’ll be reashonable about the whole thing …hic.”

The quest title captures the moment perfectly. Peppy literally tells you to go tell him, then adds “…Hic!” as she turns back to her drink.

Captain Adams’ Reaction

When you deliver the news, Adams’ response escalates beautifully:

“Yes, <name>, what is it now?”

Then the reality hits:

“WHAT?!! A Forsaken super plague that melts you in no time?”

And then, the accusation:

“You oozed my vrykul prisoner?”

He doesn’t blame Peppy. He blames you. After all, you’re the one who force-fed the concoction to the prisoner.

Adams recovers quickly and shifts into action mode:

“Alright, I know what we need to do. Or rather, what YOU need to do!”

This sets up the bombing run in Mission: Plague This!, where Adams sends you to destroy the Forsaken plague operations from the air.

Lore Note: “You Oozed My Vrykul Prisoner”

Adams’ phrasing is telling. He says “my vrykul prisoner,” not “the vrykul prisoner.” This was his intelligence asset, captured for interrogation. The Alliance needed information about Dragonflayer clan operations, vrykul weaknesses, and their alliance with the Scourge.

Instead, that asset is now a puddle on the jail floor because a drunk gnome wanted to test her homebrew vaccine.

Adams’ shift from outrage to pragmatism reflects his character. He’s a dwarf of action who dealt with the proto-drake situation by ordering you to destroy eggs. He’s not going to waste time assigning blame. The Forsaken have a super plague. That’s the problem.

Time to bomb something.
