While out in the Eldritch Heights with my cousins, Skrotee and Brote, a vicious band of wolvar from the Bloodpaw tribe attacked us. We attempted to flee, but I fear they got Skrotee and Brote. I demand retribution! Is there someone brave enough to venture to the southeastern reaches of Dragonblight, to the Eldritch Heights, and kill High Shaman Bloodpaw and his cronies?
I have given a hefty sum of gold to Highlord Leoric Von Zeldig to disperse to anyone that claims this bounty!

Vikstone's War JournalA bounty notice at Wintergarde caught my eye. Some gnome named Drolfy had paid Highlord Leoric Von Zeldig a hefty sum to post it.

The story was simple enough. Drolfy and his cousins, Skrotee and Brote, had been exploring the Eldritch Heights when the Bloodpaw tribe jumped them. Drolfy escaped. His cousins probably hadn’t. Now he wanted the shaman responsible dead.
Zaboomafu read the notice over my shoulder and snorted. “Skrotee and Brote. Those are names their parents gave them. On purpose.”
“Gold’s gold,” Buri said. That settled it.
We found the Bloodpaw territory in the southeastern reaches of Dragonblight. The wolvar had made a settlement among the crags, all bone totems and territorial markers.
Bloodpaw himself waited at the heart of it, a formidable shaman draped in tribal regalia, lightning already crackling between his fingers. He threw Chain Lightning and the bolt arced between the three of us, and Zaboomafu swore in Dwarvish and threw a blessing over us before the second volley hit. Frost Shock caught me mid-stride, slowing my approach to a crawl. His warriors rushed to intercept while he cast Bloodlust on himself, moving faster, hitting harder.
But shamans need time to cast. Buri and I didn’t give him any. Zaboomafu’s Light kept us standing through the lightning while we closed the gap and brought steel to a magic fight.
Bloodpaw fell. His tribe scattered into the rocks, howling promises of revenge that meant nothing to the dead.
Von Zeldig received confirmation with a nod. “Outstanding work. I will notify Drolfy that a hero did rise to meet his challenge and that the cruel Bloodpaw is no more.”
Somewhere, a gnome could sleep easier knowing his cousins had been avenged. Whether Skrotee and Brote were dead or just captured, I didn’t know. But Bloodpaw wouldn’t be raiding anyone else.
The Eldritch Heights bounty was collected and the poster held two more, with Wanted: Kreug Oathbreaker prowling the Carrion Fields rather closer to Wintergarde and his oath broken long enough.
