By the sound of things, Elder Ko’nani could certainly use your assistance.”

Lore Context
Elder Ko’nani is the Chieftain of the Dragonblight Kalu’ak. His urgent message references the growing threats to Moa’ki Harbor, including Kvaldir raids and the broader Scourge advance across Dragonblight.
The tuskarr turtle boat network connecting Unu’pe, Moa’ki Harbor, and Kamagua is one of WotLK’s most charming travel systems, and a callback to the Kalu’ak’s role as Northrend’s coastal caretakers.

Tuskarr in Dragonflight
The tuskarr return as a major faction in Dragonflight’s Azure Span. The Iskaara Tuskarr are a separate clan from the Northrend Kalu’ak but share the same culture and aesthetic. The cooking recipe “Grand Banquet of the Kalu’ak” directly references this faction.

Vikstone's War JournalAnuniaq caught me before I left Unu’pe.

“Word just came in off the boat from Moa’ki Harbor,” he said. “Something very bad happened over there this morning. You’ve been very helpful to us here. Would you consider using the boat to travel to the great Dragonblight? By the sound of things, Elder Ko’nani could certainly use your assistance.”
The Kalu’ak are people who fish in waters that would freeze a human solid, who treat sea giants as nuisances rather than nightmares. When they speak of something very bad, they mean it.
The boat ride across was quiet with gray water, gray sky, the distant shapes of icebergs drifting. Moa’ki Harbor emerged from the morning mist with no boats moving in the water and no voices carrying from the docks.
Elder Ko’nani waited at the dock, his weathered face creased. “What’s that you say? Anuniaq sent you?” Some of the tension eased from his shoulders. “Good, good. There’s much to do. We can use all of the help that we can get.”
I’d come to Northrend hunting one monster. But the Scourge didn’t limit itself to personal vendettas, and neither could I.
The wolvar had taken pups off the coast and those wanted recovering before anybody got as far as Planning for the Future.
