“The sacred ground of the elves to the west has been torn asunder. Now their magic is moving through the land causing ruin where it flows. The souls of the Kalu’ak are in danger as the blue dragons forces attempt to control the magic. The power came up through the lake, instantly slaying most in the village. Those that survived were driven insane.
Vikstone, you must release these spirits so that they may move on. Leave the deranged living alone; they may yet regain their sanity in time.”

Quick Facts
Walkthrough
Kill 15 Indu’le spirit mobs around the lake and village area near Elder Mana’loa, approximately [39, 68]. All three types (Fishermen, Mystics, Warriors) are interchangeable and any combination counts.
Critical: Do NOT kill Deranged Indu’le Villagers. They look similar but do not count for the quest. The quest text explicitly instructs you to leave them alone: “Leave the deranged living alone; they may yet regain their sanity in time.”
The deranged villagers are still alive (just driven mad), while the Fishermen, Mystics, and Warriors are spirits of the dead. Watch your targets.
Return to the Elder Mana’loa statue to turn in.
Lore Context
Elder Mana’loa’s quest text is one of the more revealing lore moments in this chain. He explains that “the sacred ground of the elves to the west has been torn asunder” and that the blue dragonflight’s forces are attempting to control the magic flowing through the land.
The power erupted through Lake Indu’le, instantly killing most villagers and driving the survivors insane. This directly connects to the Nexus War: Malygos‘s blue dragonflight was manipulating ley lines across Northrend, and the nearby Lothalor Woodlands and Moonrest Gardens were both devastated by the same arcane disruption.
The distinction between the spirits (who must be put to rest) and the deranged survivors (who might yet recover) is a small but thoughtful design touch that reinforces the tragedy: not everyone in Indu’le is beyond saving.

Vikstone's War Journal“The sacred ground of the elves to the west has been torn asunder,” Elder Mana’loa said. “Now their magic is flowing through the land causing ruin where it flows.”

Moonrest Gardens is where I’d found the mage hunters dead, where the ley lines had erupted and killed everything in reach.
“The power came up through the lake, instantly slaying most in the village. Those that survived were driven insane. You must release these spirits so that they may move on. Leave the deranged living alone. They may yet regain their sanity in time.”
The lake glowed an unnatural blue, arcane energy still bleeding up from whatever wound the mages had opened beneath it. Among the ruins, the spirits drifted through their former home. Fishermen cast phantom nets into water that no longer held fish and mystics communed with powers that would never answer again. Warriors stood guard over nothing, against everything, confused by an existence that had lost all purpose.
I moved among them and let my mace do its work. Each spirit fell like mist dispersing in morning light, expressions shifting from confusion to easing as they went, though into what, I couldn’t say.
One by one, they faded into whatever lies beyond this world. When it was done, I stood at the water’s edge and bowed my head.
Something in the depths of the lake was old enough to remember what the tuskarr were before the world broke, and it wanted Vikstone Conversing With the Depths rather than anybody else.
