Walkthrough
Head northwest from Moa’ki Harbor to Indu’le Village. Elder Mana’loa is a large tuskarr stone statue located in the northwest corner of the village at approximately [36, 65]. Interact with the statue to complete the quest. That’s it.
Be aware that the village is populated by Deranged Indu’le Villagers, tuskarr driven mad by the ley line eruption. They use a Deranged Tantrum whirlwind attack that deals double damage. Don’t pull groups of them on the way to the statue.
Lore Context: Tuskarr Stone Elders
The tuskarr carve massive stone statues to house the spirits of their deceased elders. These stone elders serve as both memorial and communication device: tuskarr shamans perform rituals to guide an ancestor’s spirit into the statue, where it remains as a font of wisdom for future generations.
Stone elders can be found all along the coastlines of Northrend, ranging from smaller than a dwarf to taller than a house, and mark tuskarr seasonal fishing routes.
Elder Mana’loa is one such spirit. He witnessed your spectral flight during Spiritual Insight and now wishes to help the Kalu’ak deal with the village’s destruction. His completion text is brief but ominous: “Your fate and that of the Kalu’ak are now tied together.”
This chain continues through Freedom for the Lingering, where you put the village’s tormented spirits to rest, and culminates in Conversing With the Depths, a major lore moment that awards 1,000 Kalu’ak reputation.

But then he steadied himself, drawing on whatever reserves mystics keep for moments when the world falls apart. “While your spirit was flying through the village, I sensed that Elder Mana’loa took notice of you. He wishes to speak with you.”
“The statue?”
“The stone elders are revered by us as fonts of ancient wisdom.” Toalu’u seized on it immediately. “The elder must want to help. Seek him in the northwest corner of the village.”
I made my way to Indu’le on foot this time. The village lay scattered across the shore, buildings collapsed and frozen mid-ruin. Moonrest Gardens’ destruction had done this. When the mage hunters died trying to tap the ley lines, the magic had to go somewhere and killed everyone and left their spirits wandering among the wreckage of their homes.
I found Elder Mana’loa in the northwest corner, exactly where Toalu’u had said. A statue of weathered stone, carved in the likeness of a tuskarr sage from some earlier age. But the eyes that met mine were not stone.
“I’ve been expecting you, night elf. I saw your spirit fly by and sensed the mystic watching behind your eyes.”
I waited. Ancient things speak in their own time.
“Your fate and that of the Kalu’ak are now tied together.”
Whatever had happened here, whatever still lurked among these ruins feeding on the dead, I was part of it now.
“Show me where,” I said.
The dead of Indu’le were still wandering the ruins, and he wanted Freedom for the Lingering before their torment turned into something worse than torment.
