Bolvar explains the tactical problem: “From overhead they send their frost wyrms to strafe the field of battle, making an advance upon the gate itself impossible.” The Alliance needs to use ancient dragon bones as weapons against the frost wyrms, but Bolvar won’t desecrate the Dragonblight without the Dragon Queen’s blessing.
Fly to Wyrmrest Temple [59, 54] (if you grabbed the flight path on the way to Fordragon Hold as recommended in the previous quest, this is a quick flight). At the base of the temple, find Tariolstrasz, the steward of Wyrmrest Temple, on the ground level.
Speak with him and select the option to fly to the top of the tower.
Dismount first. If you interact with Tariolstrasz while mounted, the dragon taxi will not work.
At the top, speak with Alexstrasza to turn in the quest.
Her completion text redirects the conversation from frost wyrms to something far larger: she points northward to the dying grounds of Galakrond, progenitor of dragonkind. “It is from Galakrond that the Titans created the Aspects. Imagine, then, the power of Galakrond. His size alone was greater than all of the Aspects combined! Now attempt to understand what the Scourge do in the Great Dragonblight. Frost wyrms, mortal, should be the least of your concerns.”
Bolvar sent you to ask about frost wyrms. Alexstrasza is telling you the real threat is far worse: the Scourge is sitting on top of the bones of a creature that dwarfed every Dragon Aspect combined.

But before we defile the bones of ancient dragons, we must gain permission from their queen.”
I stared at him. “You want me to ask Alexstrasza the Life-Binder for permission to desecrate dragon corpses.”
“Tell her what we must do and ask her for guidance.”
“Right. Simple.”
The road to Wyrmrest Temple wound southeast through terrain that predated my mortal understanding of “roads.” The temple itself rose from the earth, its spires vanishing into clouds while dragons of every flight circled its heights.
The Life-Binder received me at the temple’s summit. Her presence filled the chamber, warm and vast and utterly overwhelming. Whatever carefully prepared words I’d rehearsed during the climb evaporated the moment she turned her eyes upon me.
“You have come seeking my council, mortal. This I know. But do you know what it is that you face?”
She pointed north, toward the wastes beyond her temple.
“North of here are the dying grounds of Galakrond, progenitor of dragonkind. It is from Galakrond that the Titans created the Aspects. Imagine, then, the power of Galakrond.” She let that settle. “His size alone was greater than all of the Aspects combined.”
I tried to imagine. Failed.
“Now attempt to understand what the Scourge do in the Great Dragonblight. Frost wyrms, mortal, should be the least of your concerns.”
She granted permission for our mission. But as I descended from the temple, her words echoed in my mind. We’d come asking about frost wyrms. She’d answered with something far worse.
The Lich King wasn’t just raising dead dragons. He was raising gods.
The Scourge were digging in the bones of a god, and she wanted him to see Galakrond and the Scourge for himself while there was still time.
