“If you listened to the old man, then you know that we have gnomes out there that were changed. Gearmaster Mechazod infected them with something that reversed the “Curse of the Flesh”, and now they’re robots! We think we have a way to re-curse them back to normal. We want you to take this re-cursive transmatter injection and use it on the corpses of any mechagnomes you come across.
We’re hoping that this stuff will cure them and allow us to lock onto them to port ’em out of there.
Whaddya say, Vikstone?”

Objective: Use the Re-Cursive Transmatter Injection on 6 Fizzcrank Mechagnomes
Quick Facts
Walkthrough
Travel southeast from Fizzcrank Airstrip to the Scalding Pools area in the northern Geyser Fields. Fizzcrank Mechagnomes patrol throughout this region.
Reliable locations:
Kill a Fizzcrank Mechagnome, then use the Re-Cursive Transmatter Injection from your inventory on its corpse. The injected gnome transforms back to flesh and teleports to safety. Repeat on 6 mechagnomes.
Efficiency Tips:
Lore Context
Gearmaster Mechazod has reversed the Curse of Flesh, transforming Fizzcrank’s captured gnome crew back into their original mechanical forms. The “re-cursive transmatter injection” reverses this process, essentially re-applying the curse to restore them to organic gnomes who can then be teleported to safety.
The irony is thick: normally you’d want to remove a curse, but here you’re deliberately inflicting one as a rescue method. Jinky’s completion text confirms success: “You did it… it worked! I can’t believe you were able to save so many.”

Vikstone's War JournalJinky handed me a device that looked like a gnomish syringe. “Gearmaster Mechazod infected our people with something that reversed the Curse of the Flesh. Now they’re robots.” Her voice was steady, but her hands weren’t. “We think we have a way to re-

curse them back to normal.”
The plan was to kill the mechagnomes, then inject their corpses before whatever Mechazod had done became permanent. The injection would restore their flesh, allow a teleport lock. Save what could be saved.
I didn’t ask what happened to the ones already beyond saving.
Found them in the geyser fields. They moved strange, spoke in clicks and whirs, attacked without hesitation. I put six down and injected each before the transformation became permanent. One by one, metal softened to skin, and they vanished in flashes of arcane light.
“You did it,” Jinky said when I returned. “It worked. I can’t believe you were able to save so many.”
Mechazod was still at the pumping station converting more, though the four lieutenants standing between them come off in whichever order suits you, Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty.
