Walkthrough

Unlike Relics of the Snow Leopard Goddess, where you picked up ground objects, this time the artifacts are mob drops. Head northwest from Zim’Torga, past Drak’Mabwa, to the area surrounding the Altar of Rhunok [53, 37].

• Rhunokian Artifacts drop from Priests of Rhunok and Drakkari Bear Trappers in the area. Both mob types are concentrated around a small lake at approximately [53, 49] and the temple grounds above it.
• Drop rate is roughly 50%. You can get all 7 in about 12-15 kills, though results vary. You may have better drop luck from Bear Trappers than Priests.
• Circle the lake killing everything. The Priests cluster around the water’s edge at [55, 46], while Bear Trappers can be found further out around [58, 35].

Efficiency Tips

• Route through Drak’Mabwa: If you still need Sealing the Rifts or The Frozen Earth, you’ll pass through the Drak’Mabwa area [54, 47] on the way. Knock those out en route.
• Tails Up overlap: The paired quest Tails Up sends you to find female Frost Leopards and Icepaw Bears near the Altars of Rhunok, Quetz’lun, and Har’koa. You’ll encounter some wildlife around Rhunok’s altar while farming artifacts.

Lore Context

To’kini’s completion text is worth reading. One of the recovered artifacts depicts the Sundering, the cataclysmic event that shattered ancient Kalimdor into the modern continents.

To’kini notes that Northrend was once the far northern portion of a single landmass, which explains why Drakkari trolls exist both here and in the southern continents.

The Altar of Rhunok [53.4, 36.8] is where the arctic bear god Rhunok is being held captive. His physical body is kept alive by the Drakkari while his spirit is trapped and tormented. You’ll deal with this directly in a later quest chain.

This quest reinforces the Zandalari’s role in Zul’Drak: they came not to fight, but to preserve the Drakkari’s cultural heritage before the empire collapses entirely.
