“Now what we need is something to spike the mojo with. Something that’ll make it so that when the prophet drinks it, he’ll become less powerful. Drak’Agal lies to the east. There’s a mushroom there that the natives call muddlecap fungus. I think it’s exactly what we need.
Bring back lots of them. When we mix them into the mojo, the mind of anyone who drinks it will become muddled.”

Story Context
Ubungo’s plan is coming together. He’s combining the Strange Mojo you collected earlier with the Precious Elemental Fluids and now these Muddlecap Fungus to create a tainted mojo. The goal: trick the Prophet of Sseratus into drinking it, muddling his mind and weakening his power.
This sets up the confrontation in Too Much of a Good Thing.

Vikstone's War Journal“We need something to spike the mojo with,” Ubungo said. “Something to muddle the prophet’s mind when he drinks it. There’s a mushroom in Drak’Agal the natives call muddlecap fungus. Bring back lots of them.” He paused. “Oh, and watch out for the basilisks.”

The basilisks were the least of my concerns. Wading through flooded ruins to pick mushrooms while something with a petrifying gaze lurked nearby felt like a particularly absurd assignment for a warrior of my experience.
The fungi grew in clusters along the waterline, their caps glowing faintly in the murk. I collected them quickly, kept my eyes on the basilisks, and returned to Ubungo with my dignity mostly intact.
“Hand those over,” he said, already reaching for his cauldron. “I’ll mix them with the mojo and the elemental fluids.”
Poisoned god-mojo. Not how I expected this campaign to go.
The mushrooms are gathered, and Ubungo is mixing something the Prophet of Sseratus will wish he’d never tasted. Meanwhile, the basilisks lounging around Drak’Agal have been gorging themselves, and Finklestein wants what’s growing inside them in Gluttonous Lurkers.
