Valkyrion Must Burn

Quest Giver: Incendiary Harpoons crate, found inside the largest building in Valkyrion at [24, 62], next to Yulda the Stormspeaker. Picked up after (or during) Yulda’s Folly. Turned in to Iva the Vengeful at Brunnhildar Village.

Objective: Use the Valkyrion Harpoon Guns to burn 6 Dry Haystacks.

Walkthrough

• After looting the crate next to Yulda, head to the harpoon guns at [27, 60], near a traffic circle area with a blue flame in the center of Valkyrion. There are two guns north of the circle.
• Mount a harpoon gun (it works like a vehicle). Aim at the Dry Haystacks near buildings and in carts around the settlement. They don’t sparkle or highlight on mouseover; they just look like part of the scenery.
• Only 2-3 haystacks may be in range of a single gun at a time. They respawn quickly (10-20 seconds), so you can re-burn the same ones or swap to a different gun to reach more.
• Watch for Nascent Val’kyr aggro while on the gun. You can’t attack mobs from the turret, so hop off to fight them if needed.

Harpoon Troubleshooting This quest is notorious for harpoon bugs. If your shots fade out before reaching the haystacks:

• Enter combat first. Aggro a nearby mob before mounting the gun. This is the most reliable fix.
• Spam the fire button. Rapidly press the fire key; the shot that triggers the actual cooldown tends to travel properly and hit the target.
• Disable addons. Some addons interfere with vehicle controls. Disabling all addons and relogging has resolved the issue for many players.
• Aiming issues: If the gun won’t tilt up/down, check Key Bindings > Vehicle Controls. Bind “Aim Up” and “Aim Down” (default Insert/Delete) to keys that work for you.
• Don’t dismount the gun before your harpoon hits the target, or the shot won’t count.

Efficiency Tips

• This is the last of the four Valkyrion quests to complete, since you pick it up from Yulda’s building after doing Yulda’s Folly. Save the harpoons for the end of your Valkyrion run.
