Quick Facts
Walkthrough
Sirana Iceshriek is a level 80 Elite with approximately 126,000 HP. She flies in a circular patrol pattern around the peak directly northwest of Frosthold at approximately [25, 67]. To engage her, fly up to the peak and either intercept her mid-flight or wait for her to pass close enough to pull. She will land once aggroed.
Despite the Group (3) tag, many have soloed her at levels 78-80, though it requires careful play and cooldown management. At-level players (77-78) should strongly consider bringing at least one partner. A duo of almost any class combination can handle the fight comfortably.
| Ability | Effect | Counter |
|---|---|---|
| Ice Shriek | Frost damage + 3-second stun (instant cast, ~3k damage) | Cannot be interrupted (instant). Must be pre-empted with immunities, absorbs, or reflects. |
| Melee attacks | Physical damage (~850 on plate, higher on lighter armor) | Standard mitigation. |
| Mana pool | 20,000 mana (fight can outlast her mana if you survive long enough) | Mana drain or simply outlasting her casts works. |
The critical mechanic is Ice Shriek. It is instant-cast with no visible cast bar, so you cannot interrupt it reactively. It stuns for 3 seconds while dealing significant Frost damage, and she continues attacking during your stun. The fight is a war of attrition: survive the repeated stuns while steadily dealing damage through her 126k health pool.
| Class | Strategy | Key Cooldowns |
|---|---|---|
| Warrior | Spell Reflect is the star here. Reflecting Ice Shriek stuns her for 3 seconds instead of you. Try to use it 1-2 seconds after engaging (she opens with Ice Shriek quickly). Repeat on cooldown. If you miss a reflect, you’re in trouble. | Spell Reflect (on cooldown), Shield Wall, Last Stand, Enraged Regeneration |
| Mage | Spellsteal Metanoia from a Valkyrion Aspirant at nearby Valkyrion [24, 62] before engaging. This buff dramatically boosts your damage (9k Frostbolt crits reported). The buff lasts 2 minutes, so steal it, eat/drink, then fly up. Pop Mirror Image + Icy Veins + Ice Elemental and burn her down. | Ice Barrier, Mana Shield, Coldsnap, Metanoia buff |
| Shaman | Grounding Totem absorbs Ice Shriek entirely. Keep it active at all times and the fight becomes straightforward. Elemental shamans can DPS normally; Enhancement should rotate Feral Spirits and Shamanistic Rage for sustain. | Grounding Totem (critical), Shamanistic Rage, Feral Spirits, Fire Elemental |
| Death Knight | Rotate Anti-Magic Shell (absorbs Ice Shriek), Icebound Fortitude, and Vampiric Blood. Blood spec with Death Strike spam has the easiest time. Summon Ghoul for Death Pact emergency heal. | Anti-Magic Shell, Icebound Fortitude, Vampiric Blood, Death Pact |
| Paladin | Seal of Light for passive healing. Divine Shield buys 12 seconds of free damage or healing when in danger. Retribution may struggle; Holy or Protection specs reported easier success. | Divine Shield (twice with Forbearance), Lay on Hands, Hand of Freedom |
| Druid | Bear Form with tanking gear is recommended. Bash → shift out → Regrowth/Nourish → shift back for healing windows. Barkskin on cooldown. Frenzied Regeneration + health pot for emergencies. | Barkskin, Bash (healing window), Frenzied Regeneration |
| Warlock | Voidwalker tank while you Health Funnel and apply DoTs. Demon Armor for boosted healing. Drain Life for self-sustain. Affliction/Demonology specs have the easiest time. | Voidwalker, Health Funnel, Drain Life, Death Coil |
| Hunter | Difficult solo. A tanking pet (Bear, Turtle) is strongly recommended. BM spec with Mend Pet and defensive pet talents. | Tank pet, Mend Pet, Deterrence, Feign Death |
| Rogue | Cloak of Shadows to immune Ice Shriek. Evasion for melee phases. Stuns (Kidney Shot, Cheap Shot) buy healing time with bandages. Consider bringing a partner. | Cloak of Shadows, Evasion, Vanish (reset if needed) |
General Tips
Lore Context
Sirana Iceshriek is the matriarch of the Frostfeather harpies. She has been personally spurring the Frostfeather into their recent aggressive campaign against Frosthold, breaking the cycle of periodic skirmishes that Glorthal describes.
Glorthal’s quest text, “One of our stormriders claims to have spotted her circling the peak directly northwest of here,” establishes that the Frostborn use eagle-mounted scouts (stormriders) to monitor threats, tying back to the Stormcrest Eagles threatened in Baby Stealers.
Glorthal’s completion text closes the Frostborn intro chain: “I’ve spoken with Fjorlin… he said that his men will take charge of keeping the harpies down a bit. As long as we don’t let up again, they won’t find the courage to think they can attack our people.”
This hands off ongoing harpy control to Fjorlin Frostbrow, your contact for the next stage of Frosthold quests.

Vikstone's War Journal“This Sirana Iceshriek sounds like the one that’s spurring the harpies to be more aggressive,” Glorthal said. “If we kill her, I suspect their attacks won’t last long afterwards. One of our stormriders claims to have spotted her circling the peak directly northwest of here. Go find the wench and put her down. Let’s see this done.”

Wench. That was the scout’s word, the last one he got out of himself, and Glorthal used it giving the order.
Dryskol and Bonvitch were pulling gear together by the time I reached them. The paladin had seen the body come in. Bonvitch had helped carry it.
She was circling above Rohemdal Pass, larger than her sisters and trailing frost off the wings, and she did not come down until we made her.
The shriek is the whole fight. It goes through you as cold and then everything stops working for a count of three, and three seconds is a long while with something diving at your throat. I took the first one square and could do nothing at all about what came next. Dryskol’s hammer went up in Light and caught her across the wing before she reached me and put her into the rocks, and Bonvitch was on her before she could get airborne again.
After that I watched her chest instead of her claws. She fills her lungs before it comes. Once you have that, you have the fight.
We left her body on the rocks for her flock to find.
“It’s done then, thank you,” Glorthal said. “I’ve spoken with Fjorlin. He said that his men will take charge of keeping the harpies down a bit. As long as we don’t let up again, they won’t find the courage to think they can attack our people. I know this wasn’t the most tasteful work. Take this as a token of my appreciation.”
As long as we don’t let up. He said it plainly, the way a man states a standing cost. There is no end to it and he knows there is no end to it, and Fjorlin’s lads will be walking that valley long after I am somewhere else entirely.
Fjorlin had his own problems in the same valleys, starting with the eagles the Frostborn rely on and cannot afford to lose as Loyal Companions.
